Anyone played it? Is it any good? and is it a turn base game? Also a anyone know of any good computer game guide sites - I cannot complete games without them   :(  I heard Shogun was one of the best stategy games out there. I really like games like Total Annihilation and was looking for a similar game. Any other alternatives?

When I first viewed starcraft I thought 'this sucks' but then when I bought it for kicks it was excellent. The game is just fun -- especially on multiplayer. The only downside is it gets boring after a while. A longwhile.

Starcraft rocks! I don't play it too much anymore, but I used to be a hardcore player.

Protoss are ALWAYS da bomb!

No offense, and not to sound TOO geeky... but here is it how it generally goes:

1) players who play on bnet and are just getting started tend to choose protoss because they are so 'powerful' .. well this is not the case, any player could quickly whipe them out because they require so much gas and minerals.  they tend to choose 12 carriers... very immature and easy to beat. 15 goliaths could knock them out in no time.  more advanced players choose goons or maybe even zealot/goons but these are easily destroyed with a couple lurkers or firebats.

2) when they play more they move onto terran because they can get good stuff for cheap.  not much to say about them..  but they are slower than zerg and weaker than protoss.

3) advanced players will choose zerg, theres nothing worse than me pounding your ass with fully upgraded 190 hydras after 25 minutes...and even if you are REALLY good and survive the first wave, you can be sure to regret it when 250 zerglings storm you 5 minutes later.

no, what's really funny is rushing the newbies.

zerg is best for that. zerglings. they get so pissed off and it's fun to watch their reactions.

And you are correct, Hob. Protoss are for newbies, however, your theory could work in the opposite direction.

Newbs start with Zerg...cheap, efficient..

Terran get the "balanced" forces. For those who have advanced passed the "newb" stage.

Protoss, most expensive, hardest to play. In my opinion, the advanced players will play Protoss. It is EXTREMELY difficult to build up a massive army while playing them. But in Zerg and/or Terran...Marines and Hydralisks are cheap and easy to create.

I could be wrong. There are many variations to this plan. Oh well. I'm fairly decent will all of them.
