The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Perhaps I'm not too late, Tachyon thought frantically to himself. His fingers became a blur as he pounded the keys into submission, then forced them to surrender to his will.

We are getting The Lake House and Veronica Mars Season 2 disc 3 today.  At home we have some other chick flick that the wife wanted to watch.

Having babysat for years, I understand the importance (but goddamnit after awhile, the annoyance) of Spongebob

I watched Dogtown and Z-Boys last night.

For 2 hours, I was 15 years old again.  Every time they flashed a still image from magazine articles, I'd say, "Hey!  I remember that one!"

Now, I'm an early adopter in the kiteboarding world.  Some day, when I'm old(er) and gray(er), I'll be watching something along the lines of "Into the Air - The Kiteboarding Experience" and thinking, "Hey!  I remember doing that!"

Right now we're narrowing down the annual Halloween marathon candidates:

"The Changeling"

"Lair of the White Worm"

"The Brood"

"Dracula, Prince of Darkness"

"Suspiria"

... and I can't think of what else is in that stack....

Loved Dogtown and Z boys.  Truly brought back memories.  Also catch Riding Giants.  Amazing film.  that one would have been really cool in IMAX.

A Clockwork Orange

Teenage miscreant Alex DeLarge (Malcolm McDowell) wanders aimlessly amid a bleak, futuristic urban landscape. Along with his fellow thugs, he drinks drugged milk and listens to Beethoven -- that is, when he's not stealing or raping or beating people in nihilistic orgies of violence. A Clockwork Orange, based on Anthony Burgess' novel, is as powerful as when it was released in 1971.

The Aristocrats

From comedians Paul Provenza (who directed) and Penn Jillette (half of the notorious Penn & Teller duo) comes a fascinating documentary that opens a window on the world of the working comic, offering unprecedented backstage access. The premise is simple enough: More than 100 comedians (including big-name stars and lesser-known talents) tell the same raunchy vaudeville joke more than 100 times -- with about 100 different results.

High School Musical (For BBCK)

In this smash hit from the Disney Channel, popular basketball jock Troy (Zac Efron) and class brain Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) defy their friends' expectations by auditioning for the school musical. But after landing the lead roles, the budding thespians -- and their classmates -- learn some eye-opening lessons about following their hearts. The DVD includes a second, sing-along version of the film that displays the music lyrics on-screen.

High School Musical...ouch. I watched that whole thing and I hated it. That one drama guy with the hat creeped the hell out of me with his sister and I just loathed it entirely.

Despite knowing the entire film was just going to be a rehashing of the same joke, "The Aristocrats" was entertaining. Especially Bob Saget's bit.

That dude with the cards was awesome as well, so was the mime. I loved the reactions of the passing people to the mime in particular.

He's a lot different from his show...

He likes to make fun of his persona, too. Supposed to be pretty funny.
