Pseudo Magazine Cover Contest: Win an ATX Computer Case
« on: June 18, 2007, 09:26:59 PM »

The Geekery and The Geek Forums are well over due for a contest. It's been several months since we last had a contest due to Lady Marmalade betting all of the items we had to give away on some stupid crack whore in a crack whore wresting match. I told him to bet on the nappy-headed crack whore with all the tattoos and missing teeth, but he couldn't resist betting on the crack whore with the nipple rings wearing the pink bikini bottoms. He said pink was his lucky color and continued to put down all of his money along with all of the items we had.

The outcome of the fight wasn't in Lady Marmalade's favour, nor was it in the favour of the girl in the pink bikini bottoms. Let's just say her nipples weren't pierced anymore.

After several attempts at re-acquiring our merchandise from the head crack whore pimp, we broke even, and Lady Marmalade has been attending regular meetings held by The National Council on Problem Gambling for several weeks now. Hopefully he learned his lesson and will only bet his own posessions next time.

This month's contest will incorporate several different skills, including your ability to use Photoshop or some other image editor, your creative mind (Or what's left of it), and the ability to use grammar correctly.

The object of this contest will be to see who can come up with the best pseudo magazine cover in a month's time. Each moderator of The Geek Forums will select one entry that he or she thinks is the best. These finalists will be entered into a poll for members to vote on, and the person who has the most votes after a week of voting wins the ATX computer case pictured below (Sorry, no over-seas shipping off of the North American continent):

Please make sure all submissions are work safe (IE: No nudity, huge curse words, or anything else that may get someone fired from work or expelled from school). I suggest taking a look at several real magazine covers for ideas and inspiration. Here is an example that I put together a few years back:

If you're interested in participating in this contest and do not already have a Geek Forum account you can register here. Afterwards, you may submit your entries (Yes, you can submit more than on entry) in this thread.

I totally would, but I'm almost done modding my new case (Pics coming, it's black with a flourescent green Dobbshead stenciled on the side, glowing red eyes and pipe to come!).

Well at least Lacerda has moved up to crack whores.  The transgendered midget amputees who married their own grandparents were pretty demeaning.

Here's another example from that same contest a few years ago that Chris mentioned above.  There were a number of good entries in that one.

I'm wondering if I should come out with a new issue, but I have no use for a new case right now.

I'm wondering if looking at forums at work is generally work safe anyway. I may make an entry next week for the hell of it.
