Statistically speaking, only Arabs fly planes into buildings and kill a few thousand people at a time, and statistically speaking, male drivers under the age of 25 are much more likely to get into a car accident than a female under the age of 25. However, we do not say that all Arabs are terrorists and decide to penalize them all for other's actions, but insurance companies, however, are allowed to do this in the case of statistics showing male drivers being more prone to accidents than female drivers.

Does anyone else see something wrong here? If health insurance companies did this same thing with black people being more prone to asthma than white people and decided to raise prices for them just to help pay incase something does happen, people would go nuts.

But The Fast And The Furious werent really that good. Id rather Gone In 60 Seconds with dubbed to Greek, twice and once backwards than see Fast And The Furious again. I think that would be enough to lower my insurance rate...

Fast and the Furious was pretty bad.  I got married when I was 22 just so I could save money on car insurance.  Oh yeah, and the presents too, musn't forget the presents...

Eh. It's not really 'insurance' in any sense of the word. 'Mandatory Scam Policy' is more appropriate. I had a policy with a certain company (won't call any names, but it sounds like STATE FARM) from '94 until 2000
(I'm over 25, and (was) married, and had two vehicles covered by them). Up until 1999, I never turned in any claim, always paid on time, etc. In 1999, I had an accident (low-speed rear-end collision = $1500 damage to my car; $300 to the other - I was at fault). When my policy was to be renewed, I got a letter from them saying they were "non-renewing" my policy. Non-renewing? Weird Tingly Feeling? I was told by an aquaintance that usually if a claim is over $1000, you're history. Bye-bye.
I'm not expecting to get the payments (premiums) back; I know you pay for the possibility of an accident, but to pay someone and remain a faithful customer for several years then be dropped the first time you actually need 'em is BS. That' not what 'insurance' is. [/rant]

I haven't seen the Rainmaker, but I saw John Q. and really liked it a lot. Denzel was awesome in that, one of his best performances in my opinion, behind Training Day of course. Awesome movie though.

"John Q" just looked like pretty blatant propaganda, to me.  I don't think they bothered even trying to hide that fact.
