Stores With Amusing Names
« on: December 24, 2008, 06:15:35 PM »

Post the amusingly-named stores you've seen.

Near me, there's an outdoor supply store called "Take a Hike."  I always chuckle.

Either in Lambertville, NJ or New Hope, PA (they're across a bridge from one another and I always forget which side it's on) is a door-and-door-accessory store called "Knobs and Knockers."

The best one I've seen: a marble/granite place called "Get Stoned."

I saw an asian soup joint called "Pho King"

"Pho" sounds like "fuh."

There's an Asian market in Cobb county, GA named  "A Dong". That seems kinda common, though, relatively. 'Dong' maybe means something like 'store' or 'market'?

Downtown there is a little salon by the name of "Style and Dye". I'm told it's a very chic place with some very talented stylist, I just can't take it seriously.

It's not a pun or anything, but I still love it...on Rt. 23 in Wayne, NJ is a tattoo place called Shotsie's.  Their sign reads, "Shotsie's Tattoo?" and it's always confused and amused me.  In recent years, I can't help but think of Will Ferrell in Anchorman: "I'm Ron Burgundy?"

The last time I was in Scotland I ran across a gift shop in Edinburgh called "Thistle Do Nicely, which I always thought was amusing.
