this topci came up in my us history class.

whats better, anarchy or a totalitarian dictatorship?

i say totaliarianism all the way. so.. anyone htink anarchy is better? leave an explanation why, so i could shoot it down =)

I'm against both. Democracy is the way to go.

Totalitarianism - No I don't want to be controlled by government. Sure US government is getting a little out of control with the things we are limited to, but it's better than total control over my life.

Anarchy - Totally against this one. No union of states or regions can survive without a central government. There will always be the bigger nation waiting to take them down and turn those citizens into poor peasants and slaves while the cruelty of the new corrupt dictatorship in power sweeps their once government free nation. Nope. Not for me thanks.

Meaning, a government with unfettered authority accomplishes the job of taking people's rights in a spirited fashion.

Just keep the government out of my home and my business, and I'll be happy and participate in the democratic process. The be all and end all is the Constitution.

No, wait - we're supposed to choose between two concepts with no ideas of the circumstances surrounding either choice.

I assume then, seeing as our options are so general, we're allowed to fill in the pertinent details.

If that's the case, I choose anarchy.

If it were Lacerda in charge, I'd choose Totalitarianism, mostly because I have a feeling that it'd be very similar to Anarchy.

If not, then I choose Anarchy.
