A. I don't generally watch videos from work.
B. I don't generally read or watch anything on Fox News.

Can we have a summary?  In words?   :-D

EDIT because I realized that, like a total asshole, I forgot to say please.  So, please?

Same as this, except for the second part. I find nuggets of truth in what places like Fox, DailyKOS, and other fun sites post from time to time.

Summary:
Congress passes a law that will cost big companies billions of dollars, which, by law, once they recognize, they (the big companies) are required to report to share holders & SEC.

The good parts are past that. They talk about how over 50% of what the Federal Government does is against the Constitution. About how the sole purpose of the Federal Government (was) to protect individual rights; yet the majority of what they do infringes on individual rights. A question they pose is "Can you think of any aspect of human behavior that is NOT regulated in some fashion by either Federal, State, or local government?"
Also about how close to fascism we have come. Privately owned enterprises still exist; but are regulated by the Federal Government in nearly every aspect of their existence.
YOU are regulated by the Federal Government in nearly every aspect of your existence.

It's a pretty good discussion, but you have to watch the whole thing.

The local radio guy does a contest about twice a year where he offers "The entire prize closet" if someone can name two things that aren't regulated or taxed by govt in some way.  Nobody has claimed it thus far.

That was a good guess. But no; they are subject to the same laws and regulations everyone else is; they just break them more often.

It was my understanding that the internet was not regulated by the government.  I know that they are trying to get more and more involved.  Is this not true?

They talk about how over 50% of what the Federal Government does is against the Constitution.

This is surprising why?

A question they pose is "Can you think of any aspect of human behavior that is NOT regulated in some fashion by either Federal, State, or local government?"

The circadian rhythm! Until they conspire to find a way control the Sun in order to make us pay for sunlight. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, as I might be ignorant to the inner workings of any secret government policies that are working on this as we speak.

I'll watch it later and see what else they say.

Not so much, Rizzy.  Reread it.  "...any aspect of human BEHAVIOR..."

I would posit that Circadian rhythms aren't actually human 'behavior'.

Who said anything was suprising? I just said "they talk about" it.

You think solar energy will be free if the government picks it up?

I guess we have different definitions of behavior. The way the dark/light cycle is in tune with human development actually is very important, and can even affect the regulation of steroidal hormones which can affect how we interact with our physical environment and others.

I'm assuming by human behavior you mean more of the social meaning of it? I'm using a more biological definition.

Circadian rhythm is an observable behavior.

I see your points, but still disagree.  I understand the stricter definition of behavior, but that was absolutely not the point of the original question.  "Name 2 things that aren't regulated or taxed by the government."  It seems obvious to me that this excludes involuntary (and even some voluntary) human reactions, whether you classify them as observable behavior or not.

And my main point based on the original question was the fact that the government is gaining more control these days that is seems as though the only thing they haven't gotten a hold of yet IS involuntary behavior.

Most states have a sales tax.  And the FTC has jurisdiction over sale and quality if they pass state lines.  Not to mention any state consumer protection, worker protection, manufacturing oversight agencies.

They said government, they did not define state or federal.
I was referring to private ownership. Directly, in the state of North Carolina, having nailed my foot to the floor with one I can tell you, even then, there are no regulations on privately owned pneumatic nail guns, only those used in business settings.
I will admit to over-looking sales tax, however sales tax can be by-passed, creativity is the key.

Disclaimer: I do not endorse any illegal activity... neither do I suggest nailing your foot to the floor.
