Hardware, Software, and Other Imperialist Crap / Webcam on HP Laptop
« on: October 26, 2011, 08:57:28 AM »
I know there's a very small chance, but does anyone here have an HP laptop?  Have problems with the webcam?  Ours stopped working all of a sudden. Enrique was on the phone with HP for hours last night and finally quit at 1am. They didn't get it working.

Did you like The Eyes of the Dragon?  I've never heard of it, but it's got great reviews on Amazon.  I've put it on my paperback.com wishlist.

During Lent, I make roasted red pepper quesadillas, platanos and spanish rice from a box.

For the platanos, of course, I just cut up a ripe plantain and fry it up.  Add salt.

For the quesadillas, I mince up a roasted red pepper, spread it on the flour tortilla, add black beans and quesadilla cheese (or mozzarella or cheddar mix), then I cook it.

I've tried to make black bean cakes with it, but haven't been able to get them to work yet.

The Northeast, of course.

People FROM Long Island ask me why I have such a thick accent.

Then I have to put a real email address in my profile?  I wonder what's in there now...

edit:  Oh, that's real.  Just not often checked.  I can make a forward filter.

Is there any way to make it so that we can modify posts that have been deleted?  Can bots still get to those posts?  I always try to edit out the links before deleting the spam posts but sometimes I forget and it's a real hassle to un-deleted it, edit it and then re-delete it.

For those of you who don't know why I'd want to edit deleted posts...the moderators can see deleted posts.  So I figure bots can still see them too and I don't want the links to still be there for the spammers.

I hate when people leave water in the hotshot.  I measure exactly how much water I need to boil before I dump it in.  If there's already some water in there, my tea overflows and makes a mess.  Or worse...if I'm making oatmeal, it's ruined b/c there's too much water.

Is this really one of ivan's alter egos?  Created so he can talk to himself?

Well...if that were the case, he'd have asked for Homoerotic A-Team Fanfiction instead of the Smurf/Highlander crossover fanfic that Tater asked for.

So welcome.

A young New York woman was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the Hudson River.
But just before she could throw herself from the docks, a handsome young man stopped her.

"You have so much to live for," said the man.  "I'm a sailor, and we are off to Italy tomorrow. I can stow you away on my ship. I'll take care of you, bring you food every day, and...... keep you happy."

With nothing to lose, combined with the fact that she had always wanted to go to Italy , the woman accepted. That night the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a small but comfortable compartment in the hold. From then on, every night he would bring her three sandwiches, a bottle of red wine, and make love to her until dawn.  Three weeks later she was discovered by the captain during a routine inspection.

"What are you doing here?" asked the captain.

"I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," she replied.  "He brings me food and I get a free trip to Italy."

"I see," the captain says.

Her conscience got the best of her and she added,   "Plus...... he's screwing me."

"You got that right, lady," replied the captain. "This is the Staten Island Ferry."

3) Are you talking about Washington DC?  :?

What?  No.  They don't have the circus where you live?  I hate the clowns.  I always want the act to change when they come out.

LOL.  I love cats.

Except the one I presently own.  Can't stand her.  I don't think she can read my mind though.  Otherwise she'd know why I don't like her.

Finally got those stupid thank you cards done.  I ordered the ones from shutterfly that you can put pictures on and a personalized message.  Less writing for me = good.  I wrote a little note in each one and Enrique addressed the envelopes.

Aaaanyway, I just found a PM from an old HNer from a few months after Havana was born.  He had sent a gift.  Here's the first line of his note:  "Hey Min - got your thank you note - very unnecessary. I know how busy you must be as a new mom."

JUST SAYING.

Oh but apparently one of my MIL's friends has been asking about her thank you card.  What kind of friend is that?  I guess that is causing MIL stress so she has to pass it onto me.  It makes sense.  I just don't understand people like that.
