Geekin need of expert advice on laptops.
« on: November 20, 2010, 02:30:26 PM »

 :-D

Hi Im in quite a dilemma here. After two two weeks of searching the web for laptops, theres so many of them i cant seem to know which one to get, so Im hoping your infinite knowledge can help  :-D. You see I need a laptop that can be used for casual gaming and can also be used for school work. I really want a laptop that can play Final Fantasy 14 without too much lag or freezes. I am a broke college student so my spending limit is $500! Any advice is greatly appreciated, and I will most likely buy the one you guys and gals recommend

Thanks!

oh and i dont mind buying a refurbished laptop if that helps.

I have a laptop you can buy, but there is some assembly required and I don't accept returns.

You want a laptop that can play FF14 without any lag and you only want to spend $500?

Perhaps laptops have changed since I last shopped, but uh . . . Good luck with that!

although I wouldn't trust myself on this, I have found that Satellites actually seem to perform above what one would expect from them, at least in certain circumstances. I own a Satellite (not bothering to look up the model) and it runs TES4 fine. not at full graphics, and for some reason mages guilds in particular are very laggy, but it's perfectly playable and quite fun. And it works off an Intel chipset.

update: it's an E105
