Funny, I used to feel the same way...till I had a baby. The difference is though, that MY babies are actually the cutest ever and everyone really DOES care.

TV shows that make it a point to constantly say they are running out of time, "against the clock", behind schedule, pressed for time....

If you dont have enough time; then DONT DO THE FUCKING SHOW. If you are going to do the show; budget ENOUGH FUCKING TIME TO DO IT IN.

Everything is NOT a goddamn race.

Besides; unless it IS a race you are watching, what is the point of acting short for time? I believe it's to gloss over or cover up the shoddy, superficial

investigative techniques; or the lack of money to actually fully investigate and film something.

I hate when people leave water in the hotshot. I measure exactly how much water I need to boil before I dump it in. If there's already some water in there, my tea overflows and makes a mess. Or worse...if I'm making oatmeal, it's ruined b/c there's too much water.

To advertising developers:

Ya know, a "family" includes males. An actual "family" usually has a Father, you know; a MAN. Generally, it's not just a woman and her daughter or two. Or a woman and her best friend and their daughters.

But whatever. You'll reap the rewards of pop culture when you have three or four generations of young males believing they don't belong in the ideal family. When these males tire of being shown how their presence totally ruins an ideal family, and they become resentful, cynical, and more misogynistic than ever before; you can hit rewind and watch your decades of adverts again for an explanation.

Also, what the hell is up with Dr. Pepper's new campaign, "It's not for women." Are they trying to loose half of their customer base?

Speaking as a former fraternity member, I think it's a frat-boy thing. Not sure how that's going to work out. Especially when these new "flavors" of soda rarely last longer than a month or two.

I think people will remember that one time Dr. Pepper decided to (ahem) lose (/ahem) half their customers instead of remembering the new flavor itself which by that time will probably not even be available anymore.

Haha... so true. Punched at the very least.

The sad part is how much of an effect on society advertising has. It's almost (if not already there) to the point of the chicken and egg / life imitates art imitates life paradigm.

I setup a server with debian 6, during the installation, I had something stupid I had to do, so I let a roomate help me with it (first mistake). I told him what I wanted setup on it (second mistake). Instead of putting the GDE on it, he made it strictly boot to console, while setting up the DNS, he set it up to use 4.4.4.4 for DNS instead of 8.8.8.8, half the files that have been put into the home folder are files that belong to root, and so on. I installed the GDE, because it was troublesome trying to move stuff around all the time. For some reason 4.4.4.4 decides to resolve some of the websites I want to go to, so I set it to use 8.8.8.8. And the root files... I still haven't taken care of those... But I plan to hop into a root terminal and just rm them. Just re-enforces the "If you want it done right, do it yourself" type of thought process.
