Title: Haven't Been Around in a While
Post by: shparks on February 19, 2012, 03:32:55 PM
Hello,

I am a substitute teacher in Washington State.  I did my student teaching in a 7th Grade Science class.  I am currently trying to get into a Doctorate program to pursue an EdD in Teacher Leadership.  I love superheroes.  My favourite movie is "Kick-Ass."  I am not sure what else to say about myself.

I have a Pinterest account - that might help if you want to know more about me:  http://pinterest.com/shparks79/

Have you spent any time in the classroom besides subbing?  I don't think they should let people have a career in Teacher Leadership if they've never actually been a teacher.

Oh.  Welcome.  I also like superheroes.  Especially Super Martian Robot Girl and Super Mister Superhero.

Greetings and solutions.

Science is cool. Not sure I could teach it to middle schoolers though. Couldn't be too much worse then trying to teach it to adults that really don't much care to learn it.

My favourite super hero is Hebrew Man.

I know that the teaching system is messed up and controlled by politics.  Would have never guessed this until watching the documentary "Waiting For Superman" the other night followed by some research of my own.  My daughter's own teacher admitted to the "Tracking Process" that public schools do.  Sad state of affairs.

But off of my soapbox and welcome shparks!
