New Geeks on the Block / I'm back
« on: May 18, 2005, 09:06:23 PM »
Hellow there. Since my college classes are over now I've realized just how much time there is in the day.
So I thought I'd come socialize in the Geekery's fine forums once more.
Just wanted to post and say Hellow again
... which I did ... twice even.  :D

WoW has the strange ability to suck you in and after a month or two spit you back out. Gets old after a bit, but you keep comin back. Like moths to a bug zapper ... I have a Troll Shaman on Crushridge goes by Trelin.

Anarchy / The Wonders of the Lebowski

Quote from: catwritr
Your hero is a movie character?

Oy...

Not so much the movie character but the ideals that said character embodies.

Quote from: Detta
Yeah for real. My hero is Superman.

He's a movie character AND a TV character AND a comic book character.

Get a better hero, man.

No one can be Superman. Even hoping to be Superman is a stretch of the imagination. Very egotistical thing it is to try to be better than everyone in the world.
So I stick with something that I can achieve. The Dude is very grounded, very relaxed, doesn't let things get under his skin. For that he is my hero.
All I can hope to do in my life is to get by on what is dealt to me. No need to try to change it, that would just be an exercise in futility. The Dude abides, and so shall the Anfo.

Quote from: Demosthenes
*orders Anfo a Sarsparilla*

I appreciate the Sasparilla, glad you understand what I'm layin down here.

Although, I probably should get a different hero. A pot smoking, drunken old hippie man isn't the best influence in the world. But I like it.

I figured I would take it upon myself to introduce The Big Lebowski to those of you who do not know him.
He is the Dude, Duder, El Duderino (for those of you not into the brevity thing).
He is my hero.
I figure most of you know The Dude. But if not, now you do.

Political Opinions / Politicians Run Amok!
« on: March 22, 2005, 06:29:45 PM »
I agree totally with V on this one. Congress shouldn't be interfering with anything like this. Though, all they did was make it Federal jurisdiction which meant higher courts and such. Hopefully the judges will have some sense in the future and Congress will keep their nose out of private matters.
But when you look at it, they need to show the American people how "Moral" and "Ethical" they are, so they're going to fight for this till the end of time if it means just a few more votes.

On a similiar yet different note, Bush passed a bill while Governor of Texas that allows hospitals to choose whether or not someone will stay on life support. They have the authority to cut support to anyone, they don't have to give much of a reason other than "It's not worth it to keep them alive." The family has NO say in the decision at all. Because of this "Ethical" law a 12-13 month old infant died recently when the hospital decided it just wasn't worth keeping it alive, despite the mother's objection.

God Bless George W. Bush.

You know, you make a very good point about that.
There really isn't that much to do here in WV. There isn't anything here really, lots of old coal mines and such. Most are bankrupt aside from a few large mining corporations that hold a pretty good lot of sway. Not much in the way of entertainment at all though. Aside from my computer ...

My pprreeeccciioouusss....
*Ahem*
Sorry about that ...

I love Google. It is the savior of finding things on the Net ... But Gmail is public? Surely not ... That's what I loved about having Gmail, not everyone else did ... But upon further inspection, I don't think they've made it fully public yet. I can't find the link at any rate. Maybe I'm just overlooking it though.

Well ya know, considering the vast expanse of enlightening choices, I went with the good ol' Èäè íàõðåí, ïðîñòèòóòêà!!!  ... Not a clue what that is, but sounded fun.
