Anarchy / OH NOS! WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL OUR MEMBERS???
« on: May 29, 2006, 02:21:35 PM »
I think it is a good decision to delete anyone who never attempts to post - I must admit I don't get to post as often as I would like to, but I've visited Forums that have, like, 5,000 Members, and only about 500 have ever posted anything !

It's IE for me simply because I have never used anything else - I'm sure there could be better out there, but not being a 'technophobie' it will do for me !

Hi all - Thanks for the welcome.

I'm sure I will be able to muster up the occasional joke, you might be pleased to hear - only the occasional one mind you !

Hi everyone - not an entirely new Geek on the Forum, but have not posted for quite a while now, so thought it the decent thing to do to 're-introduce' myself !

Hope everyone is well, and look forward to some nice 'banter' on here - will post as often as I am able.

My apologies in advance for resurrecting a couple of 'old' threads - should have read the Rules first, which I am now off to do !

Well, as the Chinaman said to the English man who insisted on 'Breaking Wind' all the way on the flight from China to England - " Only 2 things in life pisses me off - and you are both of them" !

New Geeks on the Block / Hi All..............................

Thank's for the warm 'welcome back' messages guys and girls.

You only appreciate how good a site is when you've been away for a while - had a bit of a nervous breakdown earlier in the year ( yes, over a girl, what else?!!! ) but now recovering.

I must say how interesting the site looks now, a few changes been introduced since I was last around - not that it was a bad site before.

BTW, Judge, fantastic memory you've got - they say what you say in the past comes back to haunt you - "square peg in a round hole" - yes I did say that, much to my regret, as I realise it is down to me as an individual as to whether I participate here cordially - a case of 'life is what you make it'- I don't intend to make the same mistakes again.

BTW how do I earn 'loot'? - sounds very interesting !

Anarchy / Food is good
« on: October 03, 2004, 02:20:38 PM »
Being an Asperger's Syndrome sufferer I have some strange tastes in food - When I have a Jacket Potatoe to eat I have to drink 'Pepsi Cola' with it, but out of a can, not out of a cup - I have to drink Pepsi from a cup with other foods, or the taste is not right !

I also have a liking for chocolate and corned beef sandwiches both eaten together !

Anarchy / Goodbye for ever.............from Rotgut.
« on: September 20, 2003, 04:08:17 AM »
After a great deal of soul searching, I have decided to leave this board permanently as from now, NEVER to return again.

The reasons ? - A combination of things really.

I have never really felt I "belonged" to this board, right from my very first post.  There is an old saying "you cannot fit a square peg into a round whole".  Maybe it's my mature age, but, not meaning to sound cruel, the quality of the majority of posts on this board is more suited to kids in their early teens.

I think that it is a shame, because when some members put their mind to it, some intelligent and interesting posts shine through, but they are rare I am afraid.

I have not been on the board much, lately, I will admit, but when I have I have tried to inject a mixture of humour, serious and informative posts onto the board, but some of the replies have been, well, words fail me !

I am not saying all the faults are one sided, I am certainly not perfect and am quite likely to post a silly post from time to time.

I do, however, feel that the planet I am living on is different to the majority of members on this board.

Thankfully, I am a member of at least one other forum that more suits my style and, thankfully, the people in that forum do not judge anyone on what they are and what they post - The occasional disagreement, perhaps, but no stupid licking of certain members boots and pilloring of another member just because a member has more of an affinity for one than another.

I believe that the forum administrator, Chris, summed it up a few months ago when I was being torn to shreds for my "joke of the day" posts - He said we should not judge one person on what they are contributing, because EVERYONE has a right to contribute, it is what makes a forum the success it is.

Unfortunately, I feel, this will never be a really successful forum until certain attitudes change.

Please forgive me if I have offended anyone, but I feel it is better to be "up front" about my feelings, and to clear the air.

I have no personal grudge against ANYONE on this board, but just feel that the time is right for me to depart, because, truly, you cannot fit "a square peg into a round hole".

Anyway, enough of my woffle - Chris, or whoever organises it, could you please delete my membership of "The Geekery" forthwith.?

I am now going, deleting this site from my "Favorites" folder, never to return again - So, I wish everyone on the board my best wishes for the future.

Thankyou, and goodbye - For ever !

If you had the chance to be anyone else on this board for a day, who would it be, and why ?

Would it be The Judge, so you could always have the final say ?, or someone else who has qualities you admire ?

Anarchy / What colour is yours........?
« on: September 17, 2003, 03:02:06 PM »
A man entered hospital for an operation, and after the operation the nurse heard him ask her the question "Are my testicles black"?

The nurse, taken aback slightly, assured him that his testicles had not been tampered with, and were certainly not black !

The next day the man asked the senior nurse the same question "Are my testicles black"?

The senior nurse indignantly said no, they were not, and she was calling the matron because all the nurses were fed up with his silly questions !

The matron duly arrived on the ward, and pulled off the man's oxygen mask - "Now, sir" she said "what is your problem"?

The man then replied "Are my test results back"?!!!!

New Geeks on the Block / Nope
« on: September 17, 2003, 02:52:04 PM »
Well, I'm grown up now ( 45 later this year ), so I guess I will always now be "What I am".

However, I like to reflect from time to time if I had my time over again what different trail down the road of life I might have took - Journalist, Author, Policeman to mention just a few that spring to mind.

I think back to when I was about 21 and reflect on my life then, not realising at the time that one day I would start to grow older !

Rotgut feeling in a nostalgic mood.

Anarchy / Are you Loveshy...............?
« on: August 28, 2003, 02:42:24 PM »
You're probably not "Loveshy", HeavyJay !

I should also have mentioned that all the prerequisites mentioned for "Loveshyness" might apply to someone, but they still might not be "Loveshy", because they have no desire to date and marry a women, amd have made a conscious desision to remain single, for whatever reason.

The conditions only apply if you really like women, and are desperate to form a relationship with them, but cannot because of crippling shyness.

Regards
Rotgut.

Anarchy / Are you Loveshy...............?
« on: August 28, 2003, 01:10:27 PM »
Guys, do you suffer from the condition called "Loveshyness" ?

Only about 3 males in 200 on average are truly "loveshy", and to qualify you must strictly meet the following criteria ( please answer them honestly ! ).

* You have never, or very rarely, dated or had girlfriends.

* You have never, or very rarely, had sex ( paying a "working girl" for sex  does not apply, only sex with girls you meet on a purely "social" basis count ).

*You have remained single while all your friends dated and got married.

*You are so inhibited by your fear of asking a woman for a date that you never do so.

* You are a 100% straight male ( not "gay" in any way ).

If the answers to the above is "yes", find out more about this fascinating but serious condition by logging on to the following site, even if you are not "loveshy" it makes for interesting reading:-

www.love-shy.com

Then, follow the following link for a more detailed test to see how badly you might be suffering from the condition:- "The SHI Inventory Test"

For more details of this condition, click on the following link on the same site:- "Transcription of a Book written by Dr Brian G. Gilmartin".

Anarchy / Sloooooooow Death?....................
« on: August 03, 2003, 10:12:26 AM »
Is it just me , or is this Forum dying a slow death?

Hardly anyone logging on, and not many interesting posts!

To try to get things moving a little, could various members tell me how old they are?

I'm 44, so perhaps I am too old to understand some of you younger ones "techno speak"!

Is there any one in the Forums my age or remotely approaching it?

At this rate I might have to resort to my "jokes of the day". LOL!

I think that you are a true geek if:-

You wear glasses.
You like looking at and being in the presence of beautiful women.
You are slightly overweight.
You suffer from C.M.D.
You like to read and write.
You are not always popular.
You have SOME geek friends and SOME not so geek friends.
You don't like alcohol much.
You tell a lot of jokes.
You wear sensible shirts.
You like Computers and the Internet.
You are a little odd at times ( at other times you are pretty even! )

Now, whatever gives you the impression Rotgut is a true geek ?

Political Opinions / Illegal drugs!
« on: July 19, 2003, 02:25:48 PM »
Here's my opinion on what we should do and not do:-

Alcohol = No
Drugs = No ( definitely ) !
Sex = Yes ! ( as long as it's safe sex ) - have these Aids contractors never heard of condoms?

Well, as Meatloaf would say - "two out of three ain't bad"!
