It's hypocrisy when its white Americans complaining about immigration, as well. How quickly people forget that they're all descended from immigrants.

Only if someone actually gives me the go ahead to feed you your own heart after scooping it out of your chest with a grapefruit spoon.

Why a spoon, Vespertine? Why not an axe?

On a more serious note, I would put forth the idea that many (if not most) tribal-type 'societies' are probably a good example of communism in action without the atrocities.  Now, I'm just throwing that out there without ever having researched any sort of tribal, agrarian group in any detail.  But, the idea that all of the hunting/gathering spoils going into the community pot and being disseminated from same community pot is the textbook definition of communism.

I've also read, though don't quote me on this, about a few communes here in the states that were quite successful for a while. It has always seemed to me that communism is the most successful on a small scale, which may or may not be due to the fact that when communism goes bad it usually has something to do with the class divide - which doesn't happen so much in a tribe of thirty people.

Along similar lines as "Quills", you should also check out "The Libertine".

Oh, I have. I actually watched Quills because someone told me if I liked The Libertine, I would enjoy it.

That's probably one of my favourite movies of all time.
I had never even heard of it before yesterday, but I'm so glad I watched it. I then immediately purchased it on eBay, of course.

I don't know how many women out there besides me enjoy naked Geoffrey Rush, but I certainly enjoy it enough for at least twelve thousand women.

I watched Quills last night. Great flick, plus nude Geoffrey Rush.

Ah, right, I forgot that one!

Now, I'm aware that my tastes don't always match public opinion and I also admit that I do love some pretty terrible quality movies, bands, etc for reasons even I can't explain.

For example, I really loved Mystery Men.

Which five songs do you like better?

-Already Gone
-Hotel California
-In the City
-Witchy Woman
-Disco Strangler

Now, I'm aware that my tastes don't always match public opinion and I also admit that I do love some pretty terrible quality movies, bands, etc for reasons even I can't explain. But I've never thought of Eagles as one of those. And, of course, there are many other Eagles songs I love - just not as much as these six.

Then it appears we have different tastes in music. I wasn't calling out your taste, just saying it makes me sad. It makes me sad whenever somebody whose opinion I value shows such disdain for something I enjoy so much. You ask me to name one better Eagles song; I can name at least five I think are better, but I see no point in doing so because it's not going to change your opinion, and I very much doubt that your response will be "Ah, right, I forgot that one!"

I'll just go sit in my corner and caress my vinyl frisbees.

True. We're not very friendly, though.

IBTNP has seen three or more Monty Python films.

"If we're going to die, I want you to know something. I was in the pharmacy a while ago. There was a really good-looking pharmacist behind the counter. Really good-looking. I went up and asked her where the cough syrup was. I didn't even have a cough, and I almost bought it. I'm talking about a completely superfluous bottle of cough syrup, which costs like six bucks." -The Happening

"There will be a substantial reward for the one who finds the Millennium Falcon. You are free to use any methods necessary, but I want them alive. No disintegrations." - Empire Strikes Back

Oh, how I love Star Wars.

That makes me kind of sad. There are so many amazing Eagles songs; not to say that "Journey of the Sorcerer" isn't a great piece, but I think they've got at least a few songs that surpass it.  :|

This is true. I also prefer their hair.

IBTNP liked the BBC miniseries adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy better than the 2005 film version.
