I just watched The Namesake - against my wishes - but it was pretty great. I'm usually not one for realistic fiction, especially not of the culture-centric-generation-gap variety, but I really enjoyed it. Ah, Indian Jeff Goldblum.

You know, I've noticed in some of the latest vids that he wasn't going heels and dresses which makes me sad.
But one other thing is that he was using a hand-held mic. I feel it cut down on some of his movement which also makes me sad.
I know, right? Where's the mime?

I was a little sad though, because he did this whole tour without cross-dressing. =/

Boss: Does the rest of the PR team know how big a nerd you are? Me: You could warn them...if only you spoke Hovitos! Boss: ...right. So, would you be interested in directing the new training video? Me:

Well at least my parents didn't name me after bottled water! 10 points to Gryffindor if you've seen this movie, 20 if you own it.

I know it's a bit late, but Superstar was the first movie I ever bought on DVD. Ah, nostalgia <3

I have a general complaint about my job. I work as a public relations coordinator. On my organization's website is a form that you can fill out with any questions you may have, your name and your email address. When you hit "send" the whole form gets sent in email form to the PR email account. Now, from here, I can just hit "reply" to any of these emails and it will send my response to the person's email address. Sounds simple enough, right?
You wouldn't believe how many people send in this form telling me they don't have an email address. --;

I didn't want to influence your responses. Anyway, it would have been impossible for any one person's statement to prove my point standing alone. I need to link together different sets of information, and these responses will allow me to do so.

Thank you guys so much! Now I can tell you the actual thesis of my paper, which is:
"Those who follow Christianity, along with residents of nations in which Christianity is a dominant religion, are less likely to believe in or practice magic(k) than people of other religions and nationalities."
While the statements you provided don't prove my point at all, they'll definitely make some good points and reinforcements for my paper. Again, I really appreciate it!

Yay, finally have job to bitch about. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do. But I'm one of those writers who gets about 1000 words into a short story and is convinced it's shit, no matter what. I have no ability to judge my own work objectively. ...so I guess I'm bitching about myself in relation to my job instead of the job itself.

I haven't been able to weigh myself this week, but I can say that since the last time I weighed myself, I've lost a dress size. So there's that, I guess.

What's a the gay?
. . . Seriously though, I'd like to feel surprise along with my disgust and hatred for idiots such as this. Just doesn't seem to happen anymore.
I think it's a mass plural, like "the poor" and "the rich" and "the well endowed."

Here's another one I found awesome.
The Stargate(s) Media: Stargate SG1, although the movie is what started it all. Description: A stargate is...
Why am I explaining this? Unless you've been living under a rock, I shouldn't even have to explain what these devices are.
...is it just me, or did you mean to post this in that thread about the coolest sci fi structures?

I made my first post here on April 18th, and haven't weighed again until today:
Week 8: -12 lbs
I've been cheating, though. Oral surgery every other week means I have been rendered unable to eat for a good portion of that 8 weeks. >>;
