Anybody heard of this show? I remembered seeing an ad in the TV guide months ago and for some reason it drifted into my consciousness the other night. One thing led to another and now I've seen all the episodes. Holy shit, I may just end up turning my TV on again in five months when season 2 starts. If you need a reas on to pay for cable (or head on over to your favourite Torrent tracker, I won't judge), this is it. This show is if a slightly nicer (at least externally) Hannibal Lecter had a running TV show, and it pwns all. Dexter FTW.

I've seen it. I thought it was several years old, though.
Good show.
-
It's in its second season, I think. Morbid and dark, and very very good. Showtime is starting to kick HBO's ass when it comes to original programs.
-
From teh wikipedia:
"The first season finished airing on December 17, 2006. On November 2, 2006, Showtime renewed the series for a second season,[1] which will begin shooting on May 21, 2007 and is scheduled to premiere on September 30, 2007. Its storyline will be original, not based on Dearly Devoted Dexter or the rest of the novel series.[2]"

Right right... I think I was confusing him and that "Jared" guy on The Pretender thinking it was already on a few years. I've seen the ads/commercials...trailers! thats the word... for Dexter; I dont think I have seen the show.
-
Probably the best thing to come from Showtime EVER. Some of the acting could be better (the coworker out to get Dexter always seems so cheesy), but all in all it was a very good series. We got the whole season and had to watch them all in about 2 days. Couldn't turn it off.
Imagine CSI: LV except Grissom is a serial killer and no one knows.

That's exactly how I would describe it. I watched season 1 over two nights, six episodes at a time.

Oh wow. I must see this.
-
You certainly do.
-
Have you seen the Tudors?
-
Nope, should I?
-
If you enjoy political intrigue and history, yes.
It's about Henry VIII - before he got fat and had beheaded his ex-wife.

Anyone that watched the cartoon network whenever they were a kid are bound to have seen this. It was a decent show last I watched it, I haven't seen it on TV for several years, though I don't really watch the cartoon channels anymore. I should definitely try and get a chance to watch it . . . You never know, I might actually enjoy it more now :D
-
Yeh, lololol you prolly mite!! :D :D
-
Let's hope so. :D
It happens a lot with programmes from whenever I was younger. Like The Fresh Prince of Belair - I never really liked it whenever I watched it in the 90s - though everyone else in my house did, so I was compelled to. Then a few weeks it was on and for nostalgia sake, I watched it and found it to be quite enjoyable. :|
-
I like the fresh prince of Belarus. I think they call him fresh because it is quite cold there.
-
Think he'll be a decent ruler?
-
Cold hearted for sure

Seen what exactly? :?
-
hehe... I believe he was thinking of Dexter's Lab; a kiddie show.
-
Let's hope that that Dexter of the lab never does anything very bad and runs into the other one...
-
There was no cartoon network when I was a kid.
-
Yeah, we were deprived.
-
I just had Nickelodeon.
-
We didn't even have cable. A huge aerial, strapped to the side of the trailer, that picked up three stations, 4, 7, 13. Any other entertainment was outside.
-
That was us until I was 12, except for we got 4 channels through most of the day and for a couple hours we could almost make out another one through the snow. Then we moved out to NoCal and had to get cable or watch nothing.
-
Just finished the first book (on CD), and it also kicks ass.
-
I remember watching Ultra Man and Kimba the White Lion on UHF channel 52 in San Francisco when I was 9.
-
I had to read CD's in books when I was a kid.
-
Loved Ultraman and Kimba. And wasn't that UHF channel 44, or did 52 go off the air before I got there in '78? I also loved Marine Boy and Speed Racer.
-
Yep, you are correct, it was channel 44. Channel 52 was its sister station here in LA, with practically the identical anime lineup. I conflated my wife's memories with my own. As children, we were both watching Speed Racer in 1968, 600 miles apart, a fact never to be underestimated. Meeting someone you knew in a past life is nothing compared to that.
-
Season 4 was absolutely amazing. John Lithgow was a great villain.
There are a lot of loose ends that Dexter is going to have to scramble to tie up, or he's in a heap-load of shit for season 5.
-
Have they shown the finale yet? I've been waiting until I can watch the whole season at once.
-
Yes. It aired Sunday.
