1. Young Adult: Want to acquire an inexplicable craving for bourbon and bad decisions? OR Want to feel sane and well-adjusted by comparison? Go ahead, see the movie. Otherwise, don't bother.

(Edit to turn it into a list. I PAY ATTENTION TO FORMAT.)

If you don't follow the rules, do you have to use your spatula on yourself?   :-D

My spatula doesn't work here anymore. But if someone's willing to pay for the experience, I'm sure I can find another use for it. ;)

I guess I didn't think I had to specify--I saw the U.S. one. It was awesome. Really intense movie, but it seemed a tad dense, in that if you read the book you were fine, but non-readers might feel a bit muddled during the faster moving plot sequences.

I frequently feel that way about real life.

OK went to a festival at The Castro Theater in SF on Friday so since I saw it on the big screen (and in 35mm no less!) I'm counting number one even though I've seen it many times.  As for number two it was my first time.

1.  1/13/12--Army of Darkness
2.  1/13/12--American Psycho

1. Ratcatcher (1/5/12)
2. The Fountain (1/22/12)
3. Abduction (1/24/12) - While the premise of this film was interesting, the execution made me want to scratch my eyes out.

Every year I forget to start keeping tack until the end of January...so the first few movies I watched this year don't have a date attached. Just early January. Also, as every year, I'm only counting movies I haven't seen before...because otherwise this would climb pretty high. Ratings out of five stars.

4. Drive (2/2/12) <-- Freaking amazing. Yes, the fact that I had eaten half of a special cookie probably intensified the hell out of it, but still... Freaking amazing arthouse noir film.

I know this thread is a bit old but had to put my two kb in.

Dr. Seuss The Lorax (2012).  I can't wait!  Love these movies.
