bah, I don't ban people for doing one word posts. if they do a series of one word posts in 10 or so different threads in the same hour..then I warn them and if they keep it up I ban them.

Here are some other situations where I might ban people

If you insult a moderator and your insult is just stupid -auto ban

If you insult another board member and your insult is stupid and or was uncalled for (random flaming) I ban you for 3 days unless I forget you then your just banned.

If you ask how to hack and you are not joking -auto ban

If you look at me funny

If you spam/troll/look at me funny, laugh at Lacerdas haircut or insult Demo's baldness I ban you.

If you are a member of PETA -Autobanned we don't need no stinken vegheads

and if I just don't like you

There are only 3 people that have banning power here, and all of us really are not on a "power trip" of any sort. It's rare that we ban people. Even editing or locking threads or posts are rare around here.

That is possibly why it is rather nice around here. Good, "rich" topics and all. None of that "lol..." crap.

bah, relax Elizebeth, I rarely use my mod powers unless I am having a day like today where I spent 3 hours in an endless discussion about masturbation then got home logged on and saw a topic about it here, that really tweaked me so of course then I use my all mighty powers

oh yeah, I will also close any topics about the movie "Life of Brian" that was another endlessly long conversation I had today and cant stand any more of (for the time being)

anyways, i just wanted to comment on this cause i go to OI & i admit it's one lame ass board. but really, it didn't use to be like that! i mean, before they changed it to vb it was fine. ok, yeah, i'm gonna stop saying it was great cause that doesn't matter anymore.

all i really wanted to say is that yeah, there are a lot of retards there (and dan probably puts me in that catagory) but all in all it CAN be a good board (although it looks like shiznet) really, from that board i've just met alot of people that i'll probably talk for the rest of my life...or at least keep in touch with for awhile so some good DOES come out of it

I for one, think it's great to have a few chicks around, and we should have more. Most forum I go to are visited by guys who just insult each other and think it makes them better then everyone else. Chicks bring new perspectives to our discussions. They come up with ideas that a guy would never come up with on his own. Plus, they have the ability to point out how wrong we are about everything all the time, regardless of our position on a topic. I admire that. It's a kind of power that we gentlemen will be exposed to all our lives without any control over it. It's simply fascinating don't you think?
