Sounds like a good idea to me. But there might be one problem though, some people might start whining about it, similar to people being a moderator at "OI". Now they have like 10 moderators. :roll:

Hmm... anyone else have any "insight" to this idea? Sounds like a good plan to me.

How about Chris picks the Elite Voting Panel, and he sends out an email regarding a newbie to those select few, who then email him back a "yea" or "nay" for advancement to the next level?

And the Elite Voting Panel membership would be 100% secret except to Chris.  That way there wouldn't be any sucking up except to the forum admin, and that's where all the sucking belongs anyway, right?  ;)

Actually, I could make "secret groups" of people that only have permission to a certain forum that can only be seen on the forum index by those few people. I think.

But why does it only have to be a certain few? Why not just make a thread where people could vote about it?

I totally agree. I mean, for a guy to feel "significant" here, he'd have to post over 500 messages.

If this system does come to pass, I think it would be a good idea for those who were "selected" to pick their OWN title and then submit it to you for final judgement.

Anyone like that?
