Signature Maker
« on: May 13, 2008, 05:28:02 AM »

I'm posting this cautiously.

I've been surfing around looking for a way to create a signature. If there is a way to do this with Paint, then I'm ignorant to it. The only ways I've found are through shifty free online places or expensive downloads.

I did find this. My question to the forum is, is this safe to download? You guys seemed like the best group to ask. Oh, and flame me if downloading something is completely unnecessary. It will inspire me to keep searching for the guides that keep ellluding me (maybe I'm typing the wrong thing into google *shrugs*).

Anyway, it's not a critical thing, just little curiousity.

(I currently have no other image editor on my computer other than paint, before anyone asks. I am a member of Photobucket.)

Gimp can be frustrating on Linux, so I can imagine that on Windows it isn't any better, but it's still very functional.

signature banner gimp tutorial

Try putting that into google.  I came up with quite a few hits.

Gimp is a very powerful free software.  It just isn't as user friendly as some others.

Apparently not wise enough.

Thanks, I don't know what happened to my search-fu last night, but I got really frustrated. I'm installing gimp now, so if I have signature by the end of the day, you'll know how things went.  :-D

Gimp is pretty awesome once you learn the ropes. It uses a lot of the same tools as PS but just rearranged.

Robert Frost has now been afixed between flirting with 12 and my sanity. Gimp worked beautifully, was a bit a of a trick indeed, but the results were exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks again!

EDIT: Signature edited to something more suiting of me.  :-D
