its not some vendetta against the status quo
but the old simpsons was twice as good and
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is like God
in comparison. and dont even get me started on
how incredibly balls to the walls monorail manatte awesome
The Venture Brothers is.

I have never seen Venture Brothers so I can't really comment on that. I don't really watch much television but I do own all the Family Guy season DVDs. I like the show, even though I know it's very much the same tired formula of 10-15 minutes of "Like that time I....*SO WACKY CUT SCENE THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MAIN STORYLINE*" mixed in with about seven minutes of plot. I like the way Stewie and Brian interact and my favourite character happens to be Jasper, which they don't use nearly as much as they should.

I agree that the best part of the show is the relationship between brian and stewie but in contrast to the other parts of the show that you mentioned. All i am saying is that it is unfair that such a show can get so much publicity when there are much better shows out there.
oh and i am having trouble with the spell check button before i submit. it keeps leading me to this completley blank webpage. could anyone help with that?

Make sure your pop-up blocker is set to allow for this website. I'm not having any issues with it and I'm using Firefox. Saying there are so many other better shows out there is, of course, strictly a matter of your opinion. If I remember correctly, Family Guy was actually canceled at one point and came back only semi-recently, so it must not have been that terrible of a show for popular demand to kick in.

well you have to remember that for primetime cartoon shows there is somewhat of a formula.
in the beginning it is usually good, witty, and appealing to its general audience but over time
it loses its genuine charm. i.e. Simpsons.
or it just gets canceled outright to be revived later on some other network (futurama).

I think we can all agree that The Simpsons has been run into the ground and needs to be put out of its misery. As for Futurama, I can't get enough of that. Robot Devil kicks ass!

So I attempted to watch an episode of this Venture Brothers thing the other night. Gotta say, not funny.

Men dressed up in moth suits, some other giant dude. Totally didn't understand half of what was going on, and none of it was in the least bit humourous.

Family guy and/or Futurama FTW.

If the show can't interest me enough to figure out what's going on, then why am I going to continue to spend time to watch it? It might be the funniest thing since sliced bread, but it isn't funny to me.
