As you may know, iTunes takes it upon itself to re-organize any media files on your comp to its liking, ie., it puts the song file in an album folder which is in an artist folder.
Which brings me to my question: does anyone know if iTunes makes a copy of each media file for it's "library"?? For example; MY library is on it's own physical drive in one big folder called MUSIC, and the files are named in the format: Artist - Song.mp3 . I don't really care what the album was; I can find that if I really, really NEED to for some strange reason.
Anyway, so if I were to install iTunes; and I go looking in Program Files > Apple > iTunes > and so on; am I going to find that I convieniently have another copy of my tens of gigs of music files in separate folders?
Surely it doesn't actually copy the whole thing, right?
...anyone?
