How did you pick your website's name/domain
« on: January 21, 2008, 02:23:05 PM »

That is assuming you have a website, and if you don't what would you name it?

I picked spazghost.com based off of that having been my handle since I was a nub back in middle school.

On a side note, I'm thinking of actually getting a new domain sometime in the future, possible keast-to-west or keast2west.com (keast is my last name, so I thought the play on words would be clever). I'm doing this mostly because I don't feel 'spazghost.com' would be all that appropriate in the professional world :P

Soupbandit sounds pretty professional to me.

I had one but I let it lapse and never did anything with it.

Were scribcakke.com and soupbandit.com already taken?

To be honest, the soupbandit23 handle was just something random that I came up with one day. And I think I came up with Scribcake out of my sheer fascination with Morrowind at the time.

I had originally wanted my site to be spazghost-productions.com and use it as an outlet for the various flash/graphic design things I do, as well as a site that I could use in running my animation business in Second Life.

My only regret(s) with spazghost.com is having purchased the domain for the time that I did (I bought it for 4 years), and having taken so long to really get some 'content' up on the site, if you even want to call it that.

I think it might really be time to take down spazghost.com, or at least leave it up and set up a new site as my primary blog. Especially with my heading to college soon and from there the real world (hard to believe ain't it :P).

I think sometimes we are thinking about our whole name or our first name. or sometimes we are taking it to some domain registration websites... there are some domain suggestion tools too....

Let's recap:
 - Unnecessary and unrelated link in signature (Edit : I take it back, you can do anything!)
 - No intro thread
 - Raising a twenty-two month old thread
 - Not bringing the funny

I do believe you have failed at your attempt to be a new person. I hope you try again (but only if you get it right this time).

This is somthing I am always thinking about. I just bought zlstudios.net and am going to buy a lot of domains with the word geek in them. I really do not know how to decide which domain to pick, I would just register lots and keep the ones with the most traffic (If they all link to the same website).

That gets costly pretty quickly, to be honest.
