Stephen Baxter...
Manifold Origin (I'm reading it now... can't put it down)
He has 3 in this series. The others are
Manifold Time
and
Manifold Space.
The inside of the front cover, the reason I borrowed this book from the li-berry, said, "Stephen Baxter's Manifold novels have struck the world of science fiction like a meteor. Heralded by Arthur C Clark as 'a major new talent,' Baxter stands time and space on their collective heads, envisions the future reflected in the past and the past in the galaxy's most distant reaches an unformed speculations. Claiming the legacy of Heinlen and Asimov, baxter now returns with his thrid Manifold novel..."
I love Asimov's stuff. That one line hooked me. This guy does Asimov justice IMHO.
