An open letter to Globat.com (http://www.globat.com).
Don't send me emails saying that you're going to automatically "upgrade" me to a more expensive hosting package and then auto-charge my bank account for it if I don't opt-out.
I shouldn't HAVE to opt-out. If I want to upgrade my hosting, I'll let you know.
What exactly are you calling this marketing plan anyway? The "Let's See How Many Of Our Until-Recently-Loyal Customers We Can Piss Off" promotion?
Try that again and I'm finding someone else. Assholes.

I left globat a long time ago. I never liked them.

This brings back memories of Cyberwings (http://www.dotjournal.com/web-hosting-down-cyberwings-story) from 2002.
-
Thing is, I may actually have upgraded to a different package if it hadn't been presented in this way. But as it is, forget it.

If you're in the market for a new web host, I still stand by Insider Hosting (http://www.insiderhosting.com). They've been great for as long as I have been with them.

I'have had nothing but good service from insider hosting as well. Plus, if you search around, you could find a coupon code/promo code that will give you 30% off for life...

Isn't that a bit much for a 30%-off coupon?

Globat's on their last leg with me now. I might be giving Insider Hosting a closer look if these idiots manage to do even one more thing that ticks me off. Thanks for the recommendation.

That's OK you can just eat some manna and restore it.
