True!  The area in which I grew up and currently live is peppered with old rock quarries that, once they filled up with water, make great swimming holes.  Some of them have pretty high, sheer walls, however, that make great spots for jumping.   :-D

True.  Here in Virginia, we have what we call the "Wilder Effect".  People say they will vote for a certain candidate but when it comes down to it they just won't vote for a black person.  It happened when Doug Wilder ran for Governor here.  He was projected to win by a landslide but it actually came down to very few votes.  I'm curious to see if things have changed.

true-- if you count early teens. for me, it was watching the horribly done movie version of the bell jar after loving the book for years and years. i still love the book, but i never got over how badly the movie was done. as a result, to this day i will not watch a movie of a book i enjoyed. i'm pretty sure i'm the only person in the world that's never seen girl, interrupted.

  True; as I've never subscribed to SatTV. Although in principle; I would much rather have the independence of a satellite connection than a cable connection.
  Also; it depends on the type of boot and circumstance, really. Combat boots worn as part of the military uniform of a US soldier are almost always on the outside; pant legs bloused or tucked in, unless otherwise ordered to "Unblouse Trousers". (which is done in training during summer months due to the heat).

 IBTNP is wishes I would quit with the paragraphs in this thread and just answer with a plain, unremarkable "True." or "False." and then pose a dull, easily answered Yes or No question.

  True. I had the couple of days of "Archery" in gym class in jr. high, plus I used to have my own fiberglass bow. When we played I was usually supposed to be an Elf; and as such I got really used to carrying and using a bow, and making my own arrows.
  BTW- this playing was usually based on a Terry Brooks trilogy as far as landscape; because the area we played really resembled the map in the book on a small scale. We'd all read the books (Sword of Shannara, Elfstones of Shannara, and ... fuck. I can't remember the other one. This was in the early 80's) and were familiar with the map and population types, etc; so we used that as "setting". We didn't play actual characters from the book; we would be our own, and sometimes might pretend to cross paths with a character from the book. But this was all outside in the woods; actually playing - not like a game.


 IBTNP has done pretty much the same thing as I just described; playing-wise.

True, I guess you could say. It wasn't waaay out in the country; and it was a trailer park for the first and longest period. "In the country" is sorta relative term, though. Says the UPS guy who had to deliver a package; and he knew he would have to have the locals help him find the place. They did, graciously, and after leaving paved roads, traveling dirt roads which turned into paths; leaving the truck and hoofing it down into the woods, across two creeks (the last one with no bridge; just a lawg), and up the small, dirt path to the front door of this little remote shack; he finds no one home and a note on the door:

   "GAWN TO THA CUNTRY BE BACK IN 2 WEEKS"

But then, I actually like my family.

True. I have two full-sized, console stereos (big, credenza-looking things); one with a turntable, an 8-track tape player, and AM/FM radio. The other is just turntable and AM/FM radio. I also have a TEAC turntable... not sure if it 'goes' with any particular system; I bought it stand-alone.

Ah, I know just where that is.  When I was in Colorado Springs, I lived for a while on Bonfoy Ave., just off Union by Constitution.  Then when I lived with my Aunt Lois, it was up on Dublin Loop West, right off of North Academy.

When I was in Manitou I lived on High Street.  Manitou sucked though.
