Hm. Considering the annoyance the thread has caused, I sure hope the couple of new users the game has gotten from here found the game at least somewhat entertaining. Apologies all around.

You're right, I should probably have had a paragraph about my background first. Ironically I actually decided against that so people wouldn't be put off by the length of the posts

Well, for whatever it's worth for others, I'm a freelance web developer from Denmark who has long wanted to create a game like everyone else and actually experience the whole process of trying to FINISH it and get others to play it. I settled on a quiz game because it seemed realistic as a first endeavour and because I was tired of mainstream quizzes catering to boring, general knowledge. So I worked on this in the night (working freelance means you have to set aside your own stuff for others' almost 24/7) and, well, now it's playable. I ended up here because this seemed like one of the most active forums that catered to the same self-proclaimed nerds as myself.

Anyway, if anyone thinks it looks interesting, give it a try. If this is considered spam, delete it. I can see how it would be considered superficial for someone to come in here and do a first post like this.

Sure. Didn't know that this belonged to 'stupid crap' as I figured it might be relevant. Go ahead and delete then.

I'm actually not a bot if that's what you mean . Believe it or not, I actually did come upon this forum manually and found it a nice match for the game.

Hey guys,

Over the last 12 months, I’ve worked on a game that I thought might have the interest of people around here, mainly because knowledge of areas like computer games, the internet, science, science fiction and action movies is a major plus. The game, titled GAME OF ZOMBO (www.zombo.com), is basically a quiz game – but not one of those simple ‘answer 10 questions and get your score’ internet games. GAME OF ZOMBO is designed as an intense, immersive real-time quiz experience where you compete against your friends and the world.

Screenshots say a lot more than words, so here are a couple for your viewing pleasure:
Each round you get to pick from 3 of the game’s 15 categories.
Pick the right answer as quickly as possible and defeat your friends.
While playing, your team of friends will help you out if you’re stuck.
Answering correctly adds points and builds streaks that award extra time.
The main menu.
Before playing, build a custom team of friends that complements your own weaknesses.

GAME OF NERDS is intended as a celebration of geekdom and a way to finally use all that special knowledge that you’ve built up throughout your life as a nerd, but which mainstream quiz games don’t care about. There are lots of other features, too - for example, you can create your own questions which other players will be confronted with and earn prizes doing so. Also, as you play GAME OF ZOMBO, the game will profile you and tell you what kind of nerd you are.

I’m pretty happy about how the project has turned out, and now I just need a bunch of people to come over and play the game that I’ve spent the last year developing. Hope some of you guys will find it interesting:

Feel free to use this thread to ask any questions about the game you may have – or to give feedback on your game experience.
