I don't see how the following is legal. It has gotten to the point where it prevents me from getting legitimate messages that I actually want to read. I wonder how they would like it if I sent their son or daughter 332 emails a day just for the hell of it.

It's all spam. Maybe on a good day 5 pieces of that isn't spam. Not only is it annoying, but it is also costing me money as I pay for the bandwidth and space that it takes to transfer and store all of that crap.

I cannot wait until they make it illegal for companies to spam people. :twisted:

No shit.

I've never understood how spamming can be a "freedom of speech" issue.

It's basically like telemarketing, but worse, because it's calling collect, and forcing you to accept the charges, since ISP's just pass the bandwidth costs on to users/subscribers.

It's like if all the junk mail you got in your regular snail-mail mailbox came "postage due".

I don't understand how it's stayed legal this long.

It has gotten to the point that I can almost not use that email account because my host change the spam asassin settings, so most REAL email goes into the trash as well. I have pornorefic.com as an email port for people to use, I don't care about the spam that goes to that domain, but I'm using hundreds of megs a month on both space and bandwidth for my one email address, it is absurd.

I don't know, but a friend of mine works at a McDonalds, and he makes 500+ a paycheck. What do you make Chris? :)

I can put in just under 450 a check when I work a decent amount of hours. I'm up there in terms of pay for the place that I work. Most kiddies that start off there will get about 200 or so per check. Then again I always get the hours over them. I really don't have any problems paying thw bandwidth bills and stuff, it's just the fact that I don't have to if it weren't for spam.

I'm actually not doing bad w/ pizza delivery. I can make an average of 1600 a month, between tips and wages. And that's on less than full time hours.

mine's structured differently. I'm sure you gross more than I- but a good 1000 of mine isn't taxed. the IRS thinks I make around 600 a month.

Yeah, I have my nights and weekends free, plus I hang out online all day.  So it's a trade-off.  I still should be making more money though.  If I didn't love my job so much, I'd probably be looking for more money.
