define heaven? can't never been. however, our belief systems regarding justice is based on the Judeo-Christian ethic which embraces the concept.

living in a Christian America....I agree catwritr, we "really" don't. however, if you poll American's, 70-80% consider themselves Christian. is that what you meant?

I see that as meaning we live in a non-Christian country inhabited by a large population of Christians, and nothing more. That may be oversimplifing things, but that's how I see it.

want, desire, etc. gives rise to concepts such as equality. it gives rise to concepts such as value...and justice. these concepts don't exist otherwise.

No, it doesn't make sense, but that's your own doing, Judge. He's just saying (and I'm in no way defending his argument) that he wants in general. Assuming most people also want (in general), then the average person is selfish.

you know, i can't prove there's a heaven, but i can't prove God handed down the 10 commandments either. anyway, just wasn't sure what the agnostic was really asking me.
