God, I want this. It's cheap, cute, and would be a great way to get re-introduced to Mac OS again.

Also, here's the link to the $99 Ipod.

I have a few minor concerns about this, however. I wonder wow many RAM slots it acutally has and if it is using notebook style memory or not. Also, I'm wondering if the hard drive is a regular one or a laptop hard drive. It being a laptop drive would explain the small size overall and the 80gb limit, but it would run at much slower RPMs. The last concern is the heat factor. The trainwreck know as the "Cube" burnt to a crips pretty quickly. I hope they learned their lesson from then. And yeah, I still want one.

Only if you want the guy in the middle. And even then it's not "wrong" per se -- just kinky.

Densely-packed Power
Squeezed in under the cover of the Mac mini lies a G4 processor, room for up to 1GB PC2700 main memory, a Radeon 9200 graphics chip, and a large enough hard drive — up to 80GB — to store today’s digital media.

In fine print : Memory upgrade must be performed by an Apple Authorized Service provider.

It never mentions how many slots though.

Herp-- oh, you mean the computer.

I picked up a 12" iBook - the standard one on the Apple site, except I've ordered an extra 512 stick of ram. By god wireless internet is wonderful with Airport Express.

Please update with reports on the battery life of said iPod. It's one of the few factors preventing me from buying one.

I DON'T NEED TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE

the 40GB? I have a 15GB and can run it for about 12-15 hours depending on how fervent I am about skipping songs.

I've been saying that for years. It doesn't work. I recently had to lock up my credit card in order to protect myself against myself.

I've taken it one step further. I've introduced Mr. Scissors to Mr. Credit Card a few weeks ago.

I've only ripped about 100 of my CDs.  I have about 900 more to go.  Right now:

Song:  No One
Artist:  Rollins Band
Album:  Hot Animal Machine

I have it set to shuffle so one minute it will be something like sonatta 17 in D minor, followed by A.I.R. by Anthrax, followed by Blood on the Coal by the Folksmen...you get the picture.  And the battery life was about 8 hours.  Since my wife has a 20GB one, I brought one of the chargers to work, so I keep it plugged in at work while listening and then I have plenty of juice for both commutes, and over the weekend I can use the other charger at home!

It's good to be a Pod Person!
