The hell? You'd better not be saying the Ramones are a ska band, or I'm going to have to eat your eyes.

close enough, they spawned it...they're in a genre of their own really though. Please don't eat my eyes, I value my sight. it helps me look at por- er, my girlfriend.

true ska = the mighty mighty bosstones. or operation ivy.

I'm on a Weezer binge right now...

if you're asking me, maybe Black Sabbath on speed with trumpets.
We could call it  Iommiozzyska.

[/i]Uh.... we're still talking about The Ramones here, right?

You are aware that the Ramones were a punk band... and didn't have any horns... right?

I thought I remembered a couple songs that did...
oh well, guess I'm just ignorant ;)

*offers sincere apologies to all who were offended, especially Lacerda*

The Ramones aren't my favourite band, but I have heard a few of their songs.
While we are on the subject of punk, any of you like mxpx?

Um... Ramones are not ska.

Just for that, I shall call Weezer an Emo band and then laugh at you for listening to Emo.
*clears throat* "Ha ha ha! Emoboy! Emoboy!" Thank you.

Also, as a fan of the BossTones, I can say one thing: They're not true ska. Them and Operation Ivy are closer to ska-punk (Actually looking at one of the BossTones' CD covers, I made the connection that they're a hell of a lot closer to the Dropkick Murphys than Operation Ivy). I actually haven't heard much true ska cuz most CD stores I've been to don't carry much old music (at least GOOD old music, that is, heh heh heh).

... Again. "Emoboy! Emoboy! Ha ha ha ha ha!"

I like some of their songs.
A friend of mine is completely immersed in his pop-punk world though. He went to Pop Disaster Tour when it came to PNC and actually STAYED for Blink aftre Green Day was done. (Heh, a substitute teacher of ours who also works there said most people just left before Blink took the stage. Ouch.)
He had the new MxPx compilation in his car (It's between MxPx and Less Than Jake for me to crown "Kings of Re-releases and Compilations") and aftre Punk Rawk Show finished he said (which is quite funny cuz he's a bit slow and has the stereotypical slow-kid voice; not making fun!!) "What does that hafta do with Christianity". I don't quite know why, I think it was the timing cuz he said it completely out of nowhere, but I just started laughing hysterically.

LOL. That would have made me laugh too...

Gah, the Pop Disaster Tour was heaven to my sister, who's 13 (the worst age in life in my opinion ;) ), and she just would not stop talking about it. Considering I hate Blink, that just GRATED on the nerves. It's good to hear that even a lot of teenyboppers share the sentiment...maybe they'll make CDs as good as Dude Ranch again. Unfortunately, I think they're just getting too old for the style of music they write for.
