Damn! Why do you pineapples always have to be such killjoys?

Next you'll start smoking, in my kitchen no less, and all hell will break loose!

I know that I am waiting for it to come then I will decide if I like it or not. Hell I preferred Win98 until XP came out. Then again I never networked much until now but I am sure WinNT was pretty costly.

Longhorn becomes Vista... hmm?!

In Vista, you got the same look as Mac..  The desktop enviorment is completly stolen from Mac!  Couldn't  Microsoft spend more time @ the look, as usual.. I mean, they doesn't really care, whats under the shell, so why dont spend more time on the look?   ¤#"!!¤%"##!

I don't hate Windows.  Nor do I consider Microsoft to be evil.  Rather, I think that the progress that we've seen in the computer industry as a whole is due, in large part, to the standards that were created with the help of Bill Gates and his band of merry brothers.  Had the world not adopted such a vehicle as Windows, we may have been left floundering in a sea of....

Sorry.  The giggling was getting too much.  I was finding it hard to type.

I don't hate Windows.

Okay, I don't hate Windows 2000.  After tweaking a few things, it's actually a pretty stable OS, if a bit slow.  On the exact same hardware (since I dual boot most of my machines), Slackware runs immensely faster.  But Windows 2000 is stable, and it's no worse than any other Windows OS to set up.

In my opinion, Windows 2000 is probably the best OS Microsoft has put out.

Now, that said, I DO hate Windows XP.

I will NOT use that bloated, irritating pile of shit in my house.  Period.  I have to put up with it enough at work, and it's awful.  I swear, if I see one more stupid notification that my desktop needs cleaning or that I should really take the Windows XP tour -- notifications that simply KEEP COMING BACK NO MATTER WHAT I DO....

And I DO hate Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows ME.  I don't hate NT4, but I certainly dislike it quite a bit, to be honest.

Windows Server 2003 isn't a bad OS, but most people don't use that as a workstation.  It seems to be lacking in some of the annoying "hey, dumb end-user" features that XP is laden with, which is probably why it doesn't bug me nearly as much.

So I don't hate ALL Windows.  Just most versions.  I can tolerate Windows Server 2003, and I even like Windows 2000 -- once it's been whacked, slapped around, tweaked, pinched, and h4xx0r3d a bit, it's a decent OS.

It's good for gaming.  For anything serious though, I stay booted into Slackware.

I've tweaked XP to within an inch of its miserable existance. It doesn't look the same and it sure as hell doesn't behave as the folks at Microsoft want it to; all those "helpful" popups and reminders--gone. All the automatic updates and synchronizing--better believe that's gone. I've tweaked it to the point that the Windows Update site won't install updates I've downloaded through their stupid portal. I have to update manually. I'm amused by that. :D

my pride wont let me buy a mac, my limited intellegence won't let me install slackeware on my second hard drive, my ignorance has barred me from knowing ANYTHING about BSD, and the fact that I need good games is making me buy vista >< (and I STILL haven't gotten SP2 yet :P)

So I was wondering if Xolik participated. I decided to open the floor up to anyone in case they had. I've always considered it an "urban myth" type thing that has only been done as a prank to newbs or by the often homophobic (american) football community that ironically take part in seemingly homosexual activities.

In high school, being a swimmer/water polo player having to hang out in a speedo all day we'd get laughed at, but at the end of the day it was the football players who showered naked together and woud talk about each others peni.

Never having participated in any sort of team activities such as those, I find that slightly disturbing. However, it happens. Whatcha gonna do aboot it? Like it or lump it, I suppose. Power to 'em.
