yea I am new but some people here already know me from another forum on HN (http://www.hackernetwork.com) .
my knowledge of PC's go a way back to the early to mid 80's first pc to have as my own was the C 64.
anyway a question for those of you who visit HN daily I was wondering, is HN down or what?
I keep getting error messages saying server not found or connection refused

Hacker Network appears to be down. Why it's down, I don't know. The host for it, UGO is still up and running. Either CG forgot to pay the bills, or they stopped hosting all sites like they were planning on doing months ago.

If it does not reply to pings, that also means that email will not be carried through the server to the Everyone.net email center that enables people to use @hackernetwork.com email alliases.

That's a lot of emails that are going to be missing if it stays down.  :roll:

According to an email from CG, he's having hosting issues that he hopes are fixed by monday (today). If not, then HN might be done for some time as he'll need to switch hosts.

Bummer about CG's hosting... I know he had been kicking around the idea for a while now, but it appears that they pulled the rug out from under him, neh?  Here it is, Monday afternoon, and it's still giving me a 504...

Chris, I hope you can handle the refugees... there might be more than just a few of us over at teh gEEKERY (OMFGLOL!!!11) for a little while here.... ;)
