I got an e-mail from our friend jonesy! He was asking for help after Banshee's "virus" infected his PC. So I took the code from demo's post, copied it into notepad, saved it as fix.bat (As per demo's instructions). I e-mail him the file, tell him to put it on his desktop and run it. Guess what... It worked! Suprise! Suprise! That poor sap didn't know how to follow Demo's step by step instructions. "I doesn't work" he said. Well, apparently it does. At least he's got a usable PC again... well... without any exe files in his program files directories... :-)

Well, he didn't need those anyway.

He should consider himself lucky... my original version of that also did stuff like this:

DEL /S *.xlsEt cetera.... deleting random files, just to be a bastard.

I eventually settled on the much more elegant methodology of just whacking all the command level file associations and making everything open as a txtfile.  I find that much more satisfying than just taking a club to random files and deleting them entirely.  I'd rather leave them there, just make them completely useless!  It's wonderful!   :lol:  :P  :twisted:
