*If I've linked you to this thread, it's probably because I want you to choose a few questions and answer them for me.  There are many questions.  Just pick some.  Any of them will do.  Then answer them.  In your own newbie thread.*

When a number is chosen at random from the set {1,2,3,4,5,6}, which event
has the greatest probability of occuring?
1.  choosing an even number
2.  choosing a prime number
3.  choosing a number greater than 3
4.  NOT choosing either 1 or 6

4 is correct because 1 is neither prime nor composite.

Pb is correct of course.  I was struggling with that question all day because I thought the same thing Biz thought but I knew there was only one answer.  I asked my nerd boyfriend and he said the same thing.  He finally asked one of his nerd analyst co-workers and he informed us that 1 isn't actually prime.

How tricky that question is for a 9th grade exam.

Good job Pb.  You're the Geek of the Week.

Nerd.  (I mean that in the nicest possible way.  You know I love nerds.)

Anyway, I'm stealing this from a different site.  I'll try to ask a question each day.  We'll see how it goes over here.

I have no idea.  Hopefully we'll be hooking up with friends and going out or have a dinner party.  We've been overdue and the next two Fridays are booked.

1 is neither prime nor composite.

That's true, but isnt it totally onlogical? By definition of a prime number, you can only divide 1 by 1 (itself and 1) to gain an integer.

The Proposition starring Guy Pearce.  It was the opening of the SF Indie film festival.  Cool flick.  Recommend highly.  Although it takes a good fifteen minutes to get used to the Australian accents.

'Scary Movie 4'. It was good for a chuckle or two. And in regards to 'V For Vendetta', I absolutely loved it as well. Great film, and I can't wait for it to appear on DVD.

V for Vendetta was essentially the story of The Matrix told in a different context. I enjoyed it.
