I am wondering what you think of Nirvana. This means your opinions on:

1. All the Albums (if possible), especially Nevermind
2. If they were good or not, why
3. Why?

I liked them.  The music was pretty simple, but it was catchy.  I tend to like the other albums better since Nevermind got all the airplay.

I also like Troi Amos's cover of Smells Like Teen Spirt and SOD's cover of Territorial Pissings.

Nirvana started EVERYTHING you hear on the radio.  Nirvana started alternative and grunge as we know it.

So basically, if you don't like nirvana, go listen to rap or classical.

Good point, I was getting ready to say something similar but you beat me to it. When you listen to Nirvana today, it's pretty simple stuff. Easy to play etc. The truth is that when they started this style, it was new and unique. The were pioneers in that style of music. They got rich off it. So everyone else copied and added some variants, but Nirvana set the stage initially.

I agree. You can tell that nirvana had (and it) very blatantly influencial, especially from their "new" song.

On a related Nirvana topic...I have just started to realize how great the Foo Fighters are. Every time I hear one of their songs, I enjoy it. How many bands can you say that about nowadays?

Hundreds.  I find that the artists on independent labels put more into their music.  They don't just put out one hit and fill the rest of the album with filler.  Dave Grohl started in the DC hardcore scene, so it wouldn't surprise me that he has a little more artisic integrity than the manufactured big label artists.

The DC hardcore scene is what i've grown up in (the local scene).  You can find me at clubs and recreation centers all around here.  I've evolved off of it to play more experimental music though.
