My favourite manga is Death Note. It really messes with your head. My favourite anime is either Hellsing or Blood+( i love vampires...as long as they don't sparkle)

Boogiepop Phantom and Serial Experiments: Lain. Both have good concepts for the story and art. Phantom relies on color and music to progress plot and themes, while Lain focuses more on the actual definition behind the objects drawn in it. Both are psycho-thrillers. Kino's Journey is a close first on the anime because of its anthropological context. It has simple, peaceful art and highlights world views and the importance of understanding.

Haven't read that one!! After reading several things (Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Chobits), I found I couldn't really get into their style. I'll look into this. Thanks for the recommendation.

There's only 3 volumes - they "infinitely suspended" production of any more volumes to work on the rest. Still good though.

I like that one where everybody has huge eyes and spiky hair. It's pretty obscure.
