Ronald Reagan is dead at 93. I don't remember what site I saw this report from though. Sorry.

So who's next? Ford? Bush Sr.?

I hope it isn't Bush. We're going to be at war with everyone is he dies because Bush Jr. will take his anger out on a country such as Ireland stating that, "The drink killed him", marking the second swing at prohibition.

I had Ron picked out in the dead pool, but for July, not June, so I didn't win anything.  :(

So long, Mr. President.

Let's see how dignified the left can be with this news. My guess is not very.

If one more person tells me that my wife and I should appreciate Reagan because he did more for the military than any other president, I'll scream.

IT WAS THE COLD WAR, YOU FOOLS!!!

He wasn't doing it because he liked the military, he was doing it so he could bankrupt the Soviet Union.

That said, he was Mr. Charisma. Not much of a president, but at least he and his family are at peace now.

I should hope not. Just imagine what would happen on the right if Clinton died, except water it down to the nth degree, since this mythical creature I keep hearing about called "The Left" seems to be rather apathetic towards Reagan in comparison.

Honestly, I thought the guy died 5 years ago.

Yeah, that's kind of how Alzheimer's works.

I have never been a huge fan of Ronnie, neither in film, nor in politics, but I'm glad he's no longer suffering.  It sounded like he really had a rough last nine or ten years.  :(

He was an important president, from a political scientist's standpoint.  He played the political game well, and brought a degree of respect and professionalism to the White House which had been lacking since Nixon.  Some of his methods were unorthodox, yet remarkably effective.

I'm not going to pass judgment on whether he was a "good" or "bad" president, but he WAS an important president.  His will be remembered as one of the U.S.'s key presidencies.

Yeah and parents' groups have been trying to get alcopops/sweet-tasting liquors banned for years now, pb.

Neither of them is ever gonna happen in a million years though.

Reagan might deserve his picture on government issued toilet paper, but he sure doesn't deserve to be on any currency.

Mmmm.  No love for Reagan around these parts, I can tell.

I'm not about to advocate his use in currency, but he was an important president.

DISCLAIMER: "important" and "good" are NOT the same thing!  But Reagan WAS one of the most important presidents of the 20th century.  The debate on the "good" part will rage for years.

Agreed.

Along those lines, I think FDR was not a good president.  An important one, without a doubt... but not a good one, in my opinion.

And in that vein, I think we can also agree that Gerald Ford was NOT an important president.

Although he has the distinction of being the only President in history never to have been elected.
