Earning PointsThere are many ways that you can earn points (AKA: Loot) while using the forums. First, you can earn 5 for creating a new thread, and 3 for replying to an existing post. Your Loot values are updated after every post you make, regardless how the forum server is feeling that day.
Next, in order to earn more Loot so you may buy yourself more forum features, you can participate in a number of forum competitions that are held weekly, with Loot being handed out as prizes, ranging from 100 to 25.
You may also earn more Loot by posting teh funnay. If a moderator or I see something that is obviously funny, or something that isn't really funny, but for some odd reason we find it hysterical, we might just throw some Loot your way just for the hell of it. Values may depend on how we are feeling on that particular day.
Also, you may earn a tremendous amount of Loot by referring others to the forums. In order to actually get Loot for this, you must get someone you know to signup for an account and have them post that you sent them to here. Doing so will get you 500 Loot added to your stash. This is to encourage the growth of these forums.
You will earn 100 points for uploading your picture in our
member image gallery. You cannot earn this multiple times by posting multiple images.
Mods may sometimes start contest threads to give you the opportunity to earn bonus points and to encourage your participation in the forums. Look out for those special threads. They come up randomly.
Attachment ModI have installed an attachment mod to the forums. This should come in handy for those moments when you want to show the rest of the world something, and then you realize, "Shit, I don't have a host!". Worry no more, you have the attachment mod to help you out with this problem. The attachment mod will file your files away on our server using the latest filing away technology, and will be magically attached to your post using the most recent attaching and posting technologies. The largest file that you can upload right now at one time is 1024 KB or exactly one mebabyte.
The Forum ShopThe shop is open. The shop can be accessed by going
here when you are logged in. The shop enables you to use your points to buy forum features, such as signatures, avatars, and custom titles. The shop can also be used to buy a subscription to the Geek Girls forum, and in the future maybe used to buy other items.
