Canada Is Losing A Smart Thing...The Prime Minister's Dog
« on: September 02, 2002, 06:51:44 PM »

I'm sure all you Americans (Canadians can watch CTV), have heard the recent news that Prime Minister Jean Cretien (hope to hell I spelt it right), is retiring in about a year or so.

What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I could care less about who runs our country, unless it affects me as a person. I know, most of you are saying:

"Well duh! He'll affect you cause you're a citizen."

Well sorry to dissapoint you gentlemen, but unless the new "head honco" dictates that I cannot do ANYTHING, specifically to ME, then no, he is NOT affecting my life. Period.

DS, so what you are saying is that tax rates don't affect you? Don't get me started man. just think a little harder... Don't make me post a 10 page long list of how it affects you cause I really don't have time. If you can't realise how you are affected by who is PM, then please do everyone a favour and shot yourself. Just trust me on this one  :D

The fact that he actually refused to kowtow to Bush's idiotic war impressed me.

How many of you are Canadians? This place seems to be teeming with them, including myself of course. Anywho, I couldn't care less who ran our country, it hardly makes a difference for me, health care? who needs it, i'm not elderly or disabled. education? pft, i learned everything i needed from bill nye the science guy. Besides, it's still being run under the same Liberal government, so it won't make a difference.

PS: Don't you hate it when politicians make rediculous, minor promises on shit like education (ie: Dalton McGuinty, ontario premier promising to cap elementary classes at 20kids a class). Then they will gain public support and sympathy when asked about the feasability and budget impact, by replying "This isn't money we're talking about, this is about our children, OUR future." BULLSHIT, When I went to school, it was 30 kids a class, so what if a couldn't get the lego everyday? I turned out fine, and besides, these promises are nothing but ways to get public support, once they're elected, they can not implement them, nobody will remember, and nobody will care. It turns out that the Liberals under McGuinty were elected afterall, and what a surprise, he's broken about half his promises using the budget as an excuse, way to go Dalton, way to go... (not that the PCs or NDP are any better)

I am a Canadian, and i really dont care who our Prime Minister is. Unless of course, he really pisses me off by doing something extremely stupid.

I care. In fact, I care so much that I think I'm going to drop by on Sussex drive Wednesday and see if Paul needs any help to move in.
