Saturday we saw the DaVinci Code.  Not bad.  But then again not good either.  Sunday we watched Hustle and Flow.  Good flick.  Check it out if you haven't already done so.

For anyone who's really into film, I'd recommend checking out Filmspotting. It's a really good, biweekly podcast about film by two guys from Chicago. Check it out, what's the worst that can happen? :P

On a slightly more personal note, I haven't been to the cinema in absolutely ages. For one thing, now I'm legally an adult, it's beginning to become too expensive. Before I could get away with spending £5 but now I need to take a £10 note to pay the £6.25 ticket price and, of course, end up spending all of it on crap... Bloody kids...

I do, however, intend to get out to see Mission Impossible 3 as I've heard good things about it (from the podcast previously mentioned, no less)...

I enjoyed 'The Da Vinci Code' alot, actually. After having just read the book, it was a fairly decent adaptation, even if they did leave out several points.

I also made a trip to check out 'See No Evil'. Ugh. Gore at it's finest, there's nothing else here.

I caught the remake of House of Wax over the weekend (on HBO or something like that).  I refused to rent it because it has Paris Hilton in it.  There was nothing else on, and House of Wax was just starting, so I said, "What the hell?"  Watching Paris Hilton die in the particular way she did made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Hehe, we just watched House of Wax the other day, too. It was just gory, not scary.

Agreed on the Paris Hilton death scene: "It's not like she had anything in there she was using, anyway."

Saw Over The Hedge last night.  Good flick.  Shatner was great as a possum.

We saw that too. If you like those kinds of movies, this one won't drive you over the edge.

I just watched Oldboy and found it to be awesome. Pay no attention to the comment in the review, because that guy sounds like a tremendous douche.

I never read the comics and I was disappointed. They blew the budget making Halle Berry's hair silver and couldn't hire talented writers or a brilliant directorial mind.

Yeah.

That's unfortunate. I'll still give it a whirl and let you know what I think.

X-men: They pretty much copied Ultraviolet in terms of the main plot, and that movie was whacked! If you've seen Ultraviolet, it's like they took the kid (six) and snatched him from the Ultraviolet set and dropped him on the X-Men set without even altering his makeup, his wardrobe or his role. Actually, now that I htink about it, I'm ot entirely sure they even bothered to change the set.

Overall, the movie wasn't like a total flop or anything like that. They had some cool effect. You'll still enjoy watching it. It's the writing that failed.
