Anyone play World of Warcraft here?
« on: October 10, 2006, 12:37:45 PM »

I know that some of you must, with this many geeks in one place.

C'mon, admit it. What server? Which faction? What class(es)?

I'm on Scarlet Crusade server, Undead Warlock. I'm sure those who know me are -completely and utterly shocked- by that.

I had a Paladin on Scarlet Crusade, but got bored of it.

My main in on Llane, human priest, Xolik of course, and speaking of Scarlet Crusade...he's dressed like a Crusader. All red outfit with Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade on. I've even made my comedy attack macros that make him say the same things the Crusaders do when you aggro them.

Oh, and Asumana, my Orc-lock on Durotan.

My main is a human Warrior on Dreanor. My guild is finally starting to get organized and I just picked up my first Might piece last night.

I've got one Prophecy piece, one Transcendence piece, two Virtueous pieces and that's about it.

I find mix and matching set and non-set pieces works fine for me so far. Plus in order to get a full T2 set, I'd have to join a poopsock guild and I don't want to do that.

I'm lucky; on SC we have a hordeside -community- raid organization. Sort of like a raiding guild without the guild.

It was founded in the principle that RP servers tend to have smaller guilds, and if we're going to get anywhere endgame we have to work together, but making people leave their RP BASED guilds was a bad move.

We are now, at this point, running two BWL raids a week. I'd say we've been pretty successful. Our more advanced group pretty much has the place down, and the second group just took down the Broodlord on their first try.

I know what you mean about raiding guilds in general, though. They suck.

The problem is that people get purple fever and start making insane demands on free time and dedication to other guild members. Especially us priests.  :-( I got a bit tired of raiding 5 nights a week simply because it was getting too damned expensive. Major Mana pots go for 22-25g a stack on my server and I use at least 8-10 per raid. Unless I want to start buying gold, there's just simply no way I'm going to be able to come up with the funds in the two off days we have. Especially since they nerfed the drops at Tyr's Hand.

Hm.

Sounds like a poor support structure to me. I mean, -especially- in a guild rather than just a community, the rest of the raid should be helping pay for your stuff.

I can see how that would make you hate raiding.

I've got a 60 troll on Perenolde. Rogue captain of the top raiding guild on horde side. Only 1 piece of tier3, we haven't had much luck with the drops.

The very fact that you've gotten a piece of T3 tells me you've been more than lucky. I'd get myself to Naxx but I'm too cheap to pony up the shards\gold to get attuned. I'm just grinding my AD rep. I'm almost done, actually, just a few bars left of Revered.

We'll get there eventually, too. On the positive side, most of our team is Revered or Exalted with AD already.

On the negative side, Hordeside on our server is more than six months behind the Alliance raiding-wise (our group was the second to take down Nefarion Hordeside, adn we did it like a month ago.) We've killed Sartura in AQ40, but that's as far as we've gotten.

Yeah, I think that's how it goes on every server. On ours, theres only 1 naxx guild on horde side, and like 4-5 on alliance. Then there's 18 alliance to clear BWL, and 5 horde.

The AD rep grind is really worth it. Not for just a cheaper ticket into Naxx, but the rewards from it do help a lot in end-game.

I am personally looking forward to the Talisman of Ascention. The resit is just gravy.

Its kind of sad, I have been playing since the commercail release and I am just now in a guild schedualing its first guild pure MC. Though on the bright side, I get to learn along side a bunch of other people learning too. True its more wipes, but its still fun learning togeather.

MC is the greatest! It's like the most fun, after that it just seems like work. Might just be me though.

I despise the Core. It is long, boring, and there's no variety to it.

BWL is so much fun. You're always moving, doing something.

Well, except for Ebonroc. That's just boring as hell.

Tiger Boss can be a pain. You've got to take down the Zealots right about the same time or else they'll rez circle-jerk. My guild finally got ZG on farm status with the exception of Maw of Madness. Fuck that.

Got Rag down to 2% last night. So close!   :?
