Movie time!
« on: October 11, 2006, 07:55:56 PM »

Here's a list of some of the movies I'd like to see coming out in the next couple months...and July.

Add on to the list, take away, etc!

The Nightmare Before Christmas  (again!  though what's this I hear about Fall Out Boy on the new soundtrack?  Don't get me wrong, I actually like FOB, but....huh?)
Running With Scissors (when out on DVD because I don't think I want to spend $8.50 on it)
Pan's Labyrinth
Marie Antoinette (because we're all allowed a guilty pleasure)
Volver
Stranger Than Fiction (if someone brings up this movie and replaces "Than" with "Then", I *will* hurt them)
and....because I'm a huge Stupid Sexy Flanders fan for no good g.d. reason....Stupid Sexy Flanders and the Order of the Phoenix

Feel free to disparage, agree, etc....and go!

Children of Men looks pretty promising.

Plus I have a thing for Clive Owen's voice.

amen to that.

Indeed.  I hadn't heard of 300 so I imdb-ed it...Gerard Butler and David Wenham in the same film. SWEET.

Also, I come from a family of Bond fans, but I'm not sure how I feel about this new 007.

SAW III

CANT WAIT!

Just as a word of warning, the first 10 to 15 minutes of the movie were pretty damn gross. It was nothing more than just seeing people getting mutilated.

And the rest WASN'T??? It sucks that they've ruined the franchise then...

Borat tops my list.  It's hard to tell if The Prestige is good or not from the previews, but I'm inclined to check it out, if only because there's not much else I can think of.  I'm looking forward to the next Stupid Sexy Flanders movie.

I will be quite tempted to start a Stupid Sexy Flanders thread once the movie gets closer.  I have a problem, I'm obsessed, I know this.

I just finished listening to HP and the Order of the Phoenix.  Big enjoyment.

Hermione and Ron?  Why hadn't I picked up on that in the movies?

So much stuff from the books gets cut... it's sad. Of course, it's either that or have every book after the third one be two or three movies.

I'm VERY ADHD which causes my eyes to dart all around the page.  It's a lot like dyslexia. Reading is not fun for me.  I try.  I get into phases when I read a lot and force myself to pick up a book.  Other times, I just want to be entertained.

I first started listening to audio books during my long trips to the east coast.  13 hours on the road, round trip, goes quickly when you're engrossed in a great story.

Well that's a valid reason. I heard the whole audiobook concept is very hip in the US. I guess it would be a good thing for me as well during my train trips. It is so crammed that it is impossible to hold a book.

I'd like to see the Prestige since I read the book and it kicked ass (it's got TESLA for gawd's sake!) and also Borat because he's roflarious.

I always thought the Ron/Hermione thing was going to happen.  It seemed obvious.  When it finally happened I laughed at all those who thought Hermione would hook up with Malfoy.  Now excuse me while I go read some erotic Stupid Sexy Flanders fan fiction.

Careful with that.  The last time I stumbled across any of that it was an overly descriptive, poorly written piece involving Professor Snape in a romantic entanglement with Lucius Malfoy.

Funny, I had that same reaction to the one I found of the Weasley twins impregnating Professor Snape, who was a hermaphrodite in this particular version.

don't get me started on slash fics. BLECH.

I'm kind of disappointed in the way Ron's character started to go in the last couple books, and rather like Harry as of book 6.  I'm quite looking forward to the 5th movie, especially now that they've all finally gotten hair cuts and discovered brushes and combs.
