Rumor floating around has it that we're in for a round of layoffs. One of my coworkers says he doesn't care because he can just go work for his brother. I said I don't care if they lay me off either because I told them, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time then, then I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels and they were married, but then, then they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for my Swingline stapler and it's not ok because if they take my stapler I'll set the building on fire.

So I get to work tonight and find out that the power on floor 3-11 in the hotel are out. All floors with guest rooms.

So I call Engineering and it seems some dumb fuck in the same department responsible for clearing up the mess left a water hose running in the electric switchboard room and walked away. Now, it appears, there is an inch of water in the main room and none of our guests have power.

What the fucking hell! Are you fucking kidding me?

A coworker had to send her PC in to get a new hard drive.
"Make sure you have backups of everything you need," I told her.

Her pc comes back and she freaks out.
"All my files are gone from my PC!"
"Well yeah, its a new hard drive."
"But they are gone from my network drive too!"
"Your network drive? Show me."

She had found her own PC on the network and copied all her files there before sending her computer in for a new drive.

I laughed, but she wasn't amused.
