Hey whats up

Im a pagan geek  8-)

What do you mean by that?

You believe that the forces of the Universe are controled by supernatural beings?

The world's moved on, bub. We have "science" now.

Fool's paradise. Opiate of the masses. Rose-tinted glasses. Intellectual laziness. Misguided devotion. Irrational... uh... everything.

&c.

How does paganism give one inner peace? From what I remember, it gives pretty much the opposite, unless you're well off enough to keep up with the offerings. Isn't the pagan view pretty much that if the North Wind doesn't blow you off the giant turtle, the angry dude with the big beard will smite you with lightning? Isn't paganism no more than a pathetic attempt of an overwhelmed mind to grasp the enormity of nature, and deal in a childish way with huge concepts like destiny, morality, causality and free will?

Monotheism handles all that mess much better. The Zoroastrians were onto something. If you have to cling to a fantasy to gain inner peace, then I'd reccommend something a little more grown-up and a little less ridiculous.

I'm sure that the thought of his genocide brought Hitler inner peace...does that mean it wasn't all bad?

Unfortunately to be a Zoroastrian, one has to be born a Zoroastrian.  What he should do is found his own religion taking the best of the Zoroastrian religion but making it universalizing that way he could do something with his spare time.

Well I dont know much about turtles and I'm not a fan of beards.

I'm not gonna go on a rant ofhow science cannot explain this and that, coz I think that arguments really crap.  And I have a firm grasp at destiny, morality, causality and free will, Have for many years.

I dont see just because its not as a wide spread/acepted Idea that makes it more ridiculous than Monotheism .

Would you prefer ivan if I didnt post here and left?

Don't pay any attention to ivan.  He's just yanking your chain to see how you handle it.

But since you are a self proclaimed pagan, what type of sacrifices do you do on a regular basis?

I didn't take offence, It would be crap if we all had the same opinion.
I haven't ever sacrificed anything, paganism is a lose term like christian, it has many diffrent versions of the same faith (kinda).

I'm eclectic pagan, so I have a bit of everything.

Oh, for corn's sake, man! Pagans are eclectic by definition. That's the problem. It's a meaningless free-for-all, no moral compas, no platform, no passion. You get to do and believe whatever the hell you feel like. Why believe at all, in that case? Either make a fucking commitment or move to Switzerland.

"Christian" is about as far from a loose term as you can get: it means something very specific. A Christian believes that the man Jesus Christ of Nazareth was the embodiment of the Creator of the Universe, who was born of immaculate conception, who was executed in gruesome fashion by being litterally nailed to a cross-shaped wooden structure and allowed to slowly die of exposure, whose death was allowed by the Creator of the Universe as an absolution of mankind's sins, and who, after being pronounced dead, appeared alive to his followers and walked the earth for a time before arising to heaven. Further, a Christian believes that the Creator of the Universe intends for us to emulate Jesus Christ in our everyday life by our own free will.

If you believe these things, you are a Christian. If you do not, you are not. Nothing loose about it.

The only thing "loose" around here is your logic. You're almost as bad as Evonus.
