Sex and the City
« on: June 04, 2008, 09:10:16 AM »

Out of curiosity, how many men have been dragged to this film?
And now know that they are supposed to understand the art of Manolo Blahnik?

(Oooh my very first non introduction thread - perhaps it should of been more poetic! )

I thought you had a how-to question.

Cherubim is plural; Genesis 3:24 specifies one flaming sword. Presumably flaming swords were in short supply."

Tom Leykis did a segment about this question a couple days ago. And I agree with him, the only way straight men would go see this movie is if they are dragged there by a woman, hopefully to get laid later.

I haven't been, and likely won't be.

Those Manolo things are shoes aren't they? I fail to understand why anyone would pay more than $50-$100ish for a item of apparel that will wear out in 1-2 years. That is if it hasn't gone out of style in 1-3 months.

I don't want to see this steaming pantload of a 'movie' so it ain't just the straight guys.

Then don't look at the clothes I've got in my closet. I've got some D&G t-shirts that run more than $100 sitting in there.  :|

Why? What's the point? Are they that much better in quality? Or are you paying for some pretty pictures?

If you wanna throw money away, send some my way. :-) I could use it while job-hunting.

I've found they do tend to last longer, but it's probably due to my being terrified of spilling something on them so I never actually wear them.  :-D

So frame them and hang them on the wall as art in that case.

It looks about a dumb as the show did from the two episodes I watched and would recommend not seeing it unless you have a guarantee of getting laid from it.

Unfortunately, no. A couple of pairs, soft core all around.

Still, I managed to sit through it. It's about as 'chick flicky' as you could possibly get.

Hopefully? I don't know about you but if I'm going to see this movie I'm writing up a contract before I go.

In my case, I made a deal. Opening night for Sex And The City, in return for...

...

...

...The Dark Knight!  :-D

The Dark Knight should never be bargained with :x

He's a requirement for every relationship. In mine We're required to drive 45 miles to see it at an IMAX because the shitty IMAX in Austin won't show it >(

Fucking jerks, not sharing their IMAX. *angry face x15645465*

There's a woman out there who has to be bargained with to go see Christian Bale?

You mean you want Crapton Bile's face in IMAX? Don't get me wrong, I love Batman. I just cant stand Christian Bale. It makes the new batman movies bitter sweet.

Christian Bale is a toad, and I couldn't be more un-psyched about The Dark Knight.  I'd definitely need a bargain to go see that guy up on the big screen.

Like xolik, I have some items (mainly shoes) that run on the expensive side.  The truth is that there is a quality difference.  For example, I've got a pair of boots (NOT cowboy boots!) that cost around $300.  I've had them for at least five years, and they're still in great shape.

Pfft....I could care less about christian bale on IMAX. I want batman and I want my fucking joker and I want my heath ledger

I think knowing that this will be the only joker with ledger is what makes it the most bitter sweet for me.

On the plus side at least no more katie holmes!

Well that's semi-understandable, but not something that I'd want to fill a closet with. (And they're thigh-high leather fuck me boots aren't they? ;-) )
