The office US
« on: June 12, 2009, 04:08:08 PM »

My favourite show ever. Could probably not love it more. Seen the three first seasons very many times, will probably watch them many more times. Anyone else that share my love for this amazing, wonderful, ever so funny show?

Well, I used to... the first 3, maybe even 4 seasons where just hilarious. I fell in love with the show as soon as they started making their own episodes (instead of UK copies). But unfortunately I really think the series has gone stale in the current season. Weak story lines and hell, I am just going to say it... it's just not funny anymore. It's like the writers haven't got a clue anymore, everything's been done. Sometimes you need to know when it's time to call it quits and these guys missed all the signals.

I've never cared for the UK series though, this is one of the very few exceptions where a US remake is better than the UK original. But they did know when to quit...

WOHOO! But i have to agree on that the firsts seasons is the best ones. The last season is kind of just funny, doesn't have so much story in it anymore. But hell, if it makes me laugh I'm happy.

I'm really looking forward for the new episodes this fall. Haven't seen the newest episodes on the new season, I'm hoping on some laughter.

So, who do you like most in this show? My favourite is Dwight. Favourite episode is when he goes out to save Michael from the toaster, crashes with the car, pukes all over his car, and then keeps on driving.

I second that! In my eyes, Dwight is not only the greatest character but he's also played by the best actor of the show. Not that the others are doing bad at all, clearly they enjoy what they do.

How about the time Dwight set the building on fire because no one seemed to pay any attention to his fire drills?

The UK version is probably the one with more deep humor, and I'm not especially deep so the US version is more fun to me. All they do is stupid things. The UK version is still fun, just not as much.

I think the UK one probably has a darker sense of humour. We laugh at awkward situation because they make us feel uncomfortable. It plays on that massively. Which is why i think mainly British people like it.

That's just it, the UK version doesn't make me laugh, it makes me uncomfortable. I feel sorry for the fictional characters and can relate to them. Comedy is not supposted to be about that... comedy is supposed to make your laugh.

I do agree, sometimes i get uncomfortable, but mainly I laugh. It's the same with Frasier sometimes too, I have to hide behind a cushion or go make a cup of tea when he is about to embarrass himself, because I feel every moment of it!

It must be great to be a Canadian. You get to speak such a sexy language AND you aren't actually French.
