A)  Go chug a bottle of bleach.

B)  It really helps to specify what program you want the password for.

C)  Go mix some bleach and amonia.

The best one I have is also the only one I ever use.  It's this.

Be careful when you use it though.  You don't want to get caught with that one or you're in deep shit.  Seriously.

Ah, but we'd know right away who it was, wouldn't we?

Hence my little warning about how one uses it.  If you use it all the time, everywhere you go, it's like putting up a big, flashing neon sign over your head that says "I'M A SCRIPT KIDDIE, PLEASE ARREST ME!"

Besides, they don't call me a "Pure Evil Genius" for nothing.... ;)

I don't think so Judge, if he's an honorable hacker he'll tell us that he got it to work, and thank Demo for finding it. Of course.. honorable and hacker...

Anyone got any tip's of another way I can password protect my computer?

I had my pc repaired last year, and when it came back I could not password protect it through the usual channel: start -settings - control panel - passwords!

They upgraded my compute' to windows 98SE from windows 98, so I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it?

I know it's not the world's greatest password protection ( especially if a certain keyboard key is hit twice! ), but I found it quite useful!

Thanks.

You need to be logged in on administrator to change passwords on your system with 98SE. If you aren't then you've got no power.

Nah... he can always set a bios password.  That's relatively easy to do.  Do you know how to do that, dude?

Or even boot into DOS, and delete all .pwd files in your system directory, this will then delete all passwords for all user accounts, so you may then login as Administrator and enable you to change such settings once again.

This only really works with 98SE because you cannot really use DOS with an NTFS partition, and after Windows 98SE, Microsoft realized what was wrong and decided to change it in future versions.

I really wouldn't bother setting up a password on 98 because it is so easy to bypass. Most common way was actually just identified by Chris!
The only reason you may want to password protect your 98 PC is if you have kids at home and don't want them to find all your porn.

But if you want protection from hackers, that won't do you any good. Start with a firewall. You can get a software or hardware version of it. It depends what your needs are, and your budget.

I thought I fixed that, but apparently there was a slight misspelling. Here it 'tis.

If you don't know what to do with a bunch of batch commands, I don't think you should be using a computer.  This stuff is not that complicated, dude.

I mean, this is basic, basic.  You didn't start driving a car before learning how to put gas in it and how to check the tire pressure, did you?

Well, go here.  It'll give you a pretty clear idea of the way things are.
