Title: New Forum: phpBB
Post by: Anonymous on July 15, 2002, 08:18:45 PM
"Why the new forum?" you ask. The reason being:

phpBB is easier to maintain
phpBB has more features
phpBB also gives me more control over banning users, moving threads, and making "sticky" threads.

All user names and any other information must be reset.

Avatars can be uploaded, but they must be under about 6kb.

Polls can have a maximum of 10 options.

The advantages pretty much out weighed the disadvantages, even though I could not get the converter to work with ikonboard and phpBB due to PHP running in safe mode on the server.

Besides, if I really wanted to, I could always re-enter all of the user information by hand, but that would take too long. So, I'll leave that up to the people who want to.

As for all of the old threads, they're gone (I have them backed up incase all hell breaks lose with this forum) so get to posting to replace some of them.

Actually, I took a few minutes of my free time and manually registered a few users that I knew would stick around here. If you try to register, and cannot because your name is take, try your old login information to see if you have already been registered.
