I believe everything is just about in order, and we're ready to start putting crap in the sections. Next, we need some sort of schedule on who will update what and when.
I could take the Main Page on Mondays. And Maybe Geek Guides on Thursdays if needed.
-
A schedule?
A schedule!!!?
*crawls into the corner and goes fetal*
-
Yeah, that was my immediate reaction too.
Then I got motivated and started trying to write something. :P
-
It's not going to be carved in stone, so it can change, and if a week or two is missed, someone else can "pickup the slack" so-to-speak.
-
:)
Just joshing you, man. I already posted a rant.
-
Chris, why do the articles we post to the Main Page show up in the Main Page Stuff forum as having been posted by you?
I got momentarily confused when I got to the part in Demo's rant where he mentioned his wife. I'm thinking, "Chris is married???"
If there's no way to change that, perhaps we do need to do what Lacerda does: post a tagline at the top of our articles with our avatar and name.

Yeah, that's why I just edited my rant to add my avatar and name.
-
Yeah that's why I said we should all do that. Like 2 days ago.
Nice articles BTW!
Cat, are you still thinking about writing what it's like to be a geek girl? That would be interesting.
-
For now, the best solution is to do what Lacerda and Demo do/did. I followed what Demo did and added my avatar to the last few articles. For now that should suffice, I think.
-
Can I suggest that when we include links in our articles, we set them up so that they open in a new window? That's just a preference of mine really. I hate clicking on a link in the middle of something I read and then having to go back.
Which option do you think is the best? new window or same window?
-
I agree, having the link open in a new window is a good thing.
In case might not know: add target="BLANK" to your link tags.

Will do.
EDIT
Hey... it doesn't work. Did I miss something?
The HMTL in my links now all look like this in my rant article: <a href="http://www.amazon.com" target="BLANK">Amazon.com[/url]
That should open a new page when you click on it, but it doesn't seem to work. I mean, it navigates to wherever the link goes, but not in a new window.
-
Target="new" should do it.
-
Never mind. Now it seems to be working.
Must have been something goofy going on with my browser yesterday.
